MSX and Rise suited the atmosphere of GTA 3 perfectly
Double Clef was alright.
vcpr is the best station in both iterations of vice city
I think Im the only fag who didn't like MSX at all
SHE'S ON FIRE
not even the best from slyder
but it had the best atmosphere
youtube.com
burgers and toddlers won't get it.
GTA3s soul can only be truly understood by bongs who were around in the 90s
It really did. VC is the forerunner of the 80s meme and SA doesn't even feel like it's set in the 90s.
...
VC doesn't feel like it's set in the 80s aside from the radio
It really didn't. The 80's wasn't just clothing and music.
>SA doesn't even feel like it's set in the 90s.
yeah it did if you know anything about 90s california
at least it still has its whole soundtrack
rockstar has the money to make incredible soundtracks, but they always cheap out on the music licensing (which should be a decent chunk of the budget).
(with GTA 4 and 5, they only picked 2-3 songs by well known musicians, and then let the license expire after 10 years).
vice city was different because in 2002, the 80s was not really appreciated like they are now, and those song licenses were super cheap.
i hope with the money made by GTA 5, they will actually make some good radio stations full of actual music you would hear on the radio.
Vice City doesn't remove the songs if you purchased it before a certain date
I don't know why they didn't do that for San Andreas or IV
>yeah it did
It didn't.
>gta 3 was 18 years ago
holy shit my dude make it stop
No it didn't, nostlagia boomer. LCS was far better, same for VC and SA
Just posting the best radio station to grace any GTA game.
Top tier
>Rise FM, MSX
High tier
>K-Jah
Mid tier
>Flashback (RUSH RUSH GET THE YAYO is a banger though)
meh tier
>everything else
I didn't like it cuz of the DJ
It is much better without him
>It is much better without him
drink bleach
Double Clef
That station that played PUSH IT TO THE LIMIT CHOOCHAH CHOOCHAH
Low key probably the most atmospheric of them all considering they had to struggle with getting song rights.
>>(RUSH RUSH GET THE YAYO is a banger though)
>not saying the same for SHE'S ON FIRE
Both options are good. The MC adds a level of hype and pirate station vibes while the stand-alone tracks are strong enough to stand on their own.

also this trailer with this music is what sold 11 year old me to beg for it
objective opinions coming through
dont mind me, i'm just being objectively correct
And we gon' give this all that we got: Blow the spot, keep rising to the top
I appreciate the work put into this but jesus christ that's one of the worst opinions I've ever seen. Or perhaps just uncultured?
Double Clef, Low Down, Mirror Park, Rebel Radio, Non Stop Pop? The entirety of mid tier? Some are correctly up top but. Idk this must be a cultural thing. Are you perhaps UM
All radio stations are equally good unless you're a brainlet who doesn't want to immerse his auditory senses with a variety of carefully curated acoustic masterpieces
This is practically reverse tiered. What is wrong with you.
I only disagree with K-rose, should be at least top tier. Never knew country could be so catchy and fun before K-rose.
Also you're right all the dance music stations are insanely good. They really captured a special moment in time with Rise FM and MSX.
spotted the zoom zooms and mutts
Rebel Radio is nearly K-Rose tier.
Why haven't the radio stations ever come close to what GTA SA had?
In LCS you play as a mafia cuck in a generic sunny Liberty City
>Low Down, Mirror Park, Rebel Radio, Non Stop Pop
these are all shit
The most normie-tier radio station in SA. Just a bunch of hugely overplayed classic rock anthems. If you enjoy K-dst, you have no taste.
My person of the dark-skinned variety
Music in general was pretty shit at that time. Lots of DnB, club music and nuMetal.
What made gta 3 so incredibly atmospheric? Was it the near constant rain, the fog, the slight reverb of your surroundings? The fact that your character doesn't speak? Driving through downtown LC in a sports car listening to trance is still one of my most memorable gaming moments.
DnB at the turn of the millennium was still good and very innovative. Lots of experimentation and clashes of styles were going in (jungle, darkstep, tech, atmospheric, jazz). DnB only became shit in the late 2000s when it became EDM-fied and it all started to sound the same.
>tfw trying to 100% VC and can't figure out which unique jump I missed
All of it. Excellent sound design yet still there's a creep factor from the time.
drop your save into gtasnp.com and you can see a map of the collectibles you missed
I AM DE NUTTA.
OH-RIDGE--GIN-AL MAD NUTTA
Alright that's fair.
I don't see a map. Just the 35/36
Staying up forever with RISE

This song hits me in the feels.
I think the freedom in general was amazing. I've never been as blown away by a video game as when I went to my friend's house and saw it for the first time.
lol if you google the phone number in that track it takes you to a database of spam phone numbers and every comment is an MSX FM reference.
