Reminder that mass effect 2 while not a bad game on its own was a really poor sequel to mass effect

>they should've expanded on the deep space exploration as opposed to cutting it down to nothing
>they shouldn't have basically soft-retconned the ending of ME1 and thrown in a massive timeskip to justify huge character changes and a huge shift in tone that arguably flew in the face of ME1
>They should've tried more to make ME1's more RPG-ish combat better instead of immediately ditching it for a generic cover shooter, I'm a shooter snob and even I thought ME1's janky combat felt more intriguing than "it's gears of war xd"

On an unrelated note, it's funny how mass effect, a series so universally lauded in its prime, fucked the landing so hard that people barely even want to replay it knowing what's going to come at the end.

What do you mean "debunked many times?" ME2 is barely a sequel to ME1 in some regards. Yes, ME3's ending would've fucked the franchise no matter what as a good portion of ME3 is still solid and yet it still has the reputation it does, but ME2 is a game that makes it its mission to awkwardly retcon development and setups from ME1 so the new writer can take the story in an entirely new direction.

The mere act of forcing you to side with Cerberus should be ridiculous to any paragon player who's played ME1, but that's what they start the game off with, because the story is written around the idea of Shepard going "rogue" so they have to somehow force him into a situation where the player has no choice but to play along.

Mass Effect 3 was ok. Even the concept of its ending (we kill organics so that organics don't kill themselves) would make sense if it was told from a different angle with proper build up. Multiplayer was amazing. And Andromeda was so bad it had all the bad things of the original trilogy but none of the hooks, I couldn't finish it.
