Take the indie pill

Take the indie pill.

Fuck AAA gaming.

I did that like 5 years ago, user.

My Friend Pedro tomorrow

those are all garbage compared to japanese games.

>Bastion over Transistor and Pyre
Yep, this one's going in my cringe compilation

I like 90’s-era FPS, Zelda and Metroid-style adventure games, platform action like Mega Man and Classicvania, and strategy games like Advance Wars and Fire Emblem. Recommend me some games.

I just can't get into Banished.
Learning the systems in the beginning take away from the "comfy" nature of the game and by the time you learn how to get a good comfy settlement going it quickly becomes repetitive and boring.

I have!

Enter the gungeon is raping my ass, is it supposed to be hard?

transistor sucked balls

9/9 loved thumper
16/16 banished was a bit hollow, but mods helped.

*Snap*

It's not that hard. Just learn to avoid bullets instead of rolling.

uber yikes

>I like 90’s-era FPS,
Well, you posted one. Dusk is also a good choise.
>Zelda
Crosscode, Oceanhorn
>Metroid-style adventure games
Every game calls itself metroidvania nowadays, but I can only recommend Environmental Station Alpha and Axiom Verge. They are the closest to Metroid.
>platform action like Mega Man and Classicvania
Honestly, I don't know any Mega Man clones aside from 20XX, but that one is roguelike.
As for Castlevania I can recommend Volgarr the Viking,

I've played plenty of twin-stick shooters and shumps but even I have trouble with Enter the Gungeon sometimes. Probably because it's pretty reliant on the dodge mechanic and im used to trying to just dodge things with movement.

That's not 3x3 thread, user.

trackmania turbo is fun but like halfway through i just couldn't get golds anymore

Post upcoming indies.

Attached: SakunaDateFeatured[1].jpg (698x289, 63K)

i'm sorry.

Attached: maxresdefault[1].jpg (1280x720, 149K)

dodge is OP, but dont spam it
do that and you can pretty reliably get good at the game
that or like, get good at bullet hells then come back

I took the indiepill a couple of months ago.
made me realize there are games with SOUL still being made today.

Getting golds on black tracks is brutally hard, although I don't play many racing games. The super trackmaster times are just mind-boggling, and it took my probably over 100 hours just to get all golds.

that ending was garbage it was obvious they ran out of development time

IS DEATH GAMBIT ANY GOOD?
PLEASE
RESPOND

Very excited for Death Trash if it ever comes out

Does anyone know of any RPGs or something similar to Starbound and Terraria that aren't medieval or fantasy? Really looking for a science fiction title.

But wasn't Trackmania Turbo published by Ubisoft? How does that work?

can't fucking wait for blasphemous

Planet Centauri is a pretty good mix of sci-fi/fantasy.
Can't really think of any purely sci-fi games in that partiuclar genre other than starbound.

>Spelunky
Unironically one of the greatest games ever made, I'd be on my top 10 list easily.
I really hope they don't fuck it all up with Spelunky 2.

Attached: Aug-29-Spelunky-2-thumbnail-feat.jpg (1280x720, 187K)

Too bad Jewish Maiden sued them and it is now getting delayed.

2 days prior to the lawsuit the devs were tweeting about the launch trailer, I 100% guarantee you that it was meant for e3 and that they were meant to showcase the game like they did for Wrath: Aeon of Ruin. We'd possibly be playing the game right now if not for these greedy fucking dogshit "rockstars"

Fucking FUCK these cunts.

The retard that made this image should be hanged. And I am not even talking about the rankings.

>no unlockable items for defeating the Lich with every character
>no unlockable items for completing the game with Jimmy

Still the best roguelite.

I for the life of me can't get into Environmental Station Alpha. It just feels like it's too convoluted to figure out where to go next. Like it's the metroid 1 pixel bullshit but x100 for the entire game. Does that change later in game

Attached: Freeware.jpg (960x3926, 1.47M)

Maybe you should use a different picture

this. I dunno why, but comfy pixely ultraviolence makes my benis hard

No. Not at all.

Brainlet

Isn't the whole point of indie development that there is no hard deadline or publishers to rush out games?

serious question, what exactly does AAA stand for? i know the big publishers are AAA but is it an abreviation for something?

anyways, here's my 3x3, i STILL should add VtMB somewhere but just don't know where.

Attached: 3x3.jpg (665x871, 323K)

Thanks, bros. There are too many games to sift through, so this helps a lot.

It doesn't stand for anything, it just means high production quality.

WHY

forgot to rate others in this, post
so here goes

4/6
can't remember why but didn't enjoy oblivion that much, EU3 iirc was hard to get into (only tried it like twice in mp which seemed to crash every fucking time)
+aoe 2,full throttle,fo2,civ3
2/2 i guess, not sure about heretic but max payne was fun

take the /vr/ pill

Attached: mosaic (2).jpg (920x920, 385K)

ok thanks, always wondered if it was something, never could figure it out.

>play good indie games
>play good AAA games
Don't be a loser OP

>what exactly does AAA stand for?
Nothing just a term to refer to big budget games.
If you wanted to try to theorize a reasoning it might be because top score/ranking in games is typically "AAA" or "S" (in japanese games)

This is honestly the best advice. When there's nothing recent that's been catching me eye over the past year or two I've just been going back and checking out older games I missed out on. Thinking of maybe picking up an SNES Classic in a few months if I've got nothing that I'm playing.

>Thinking of maybe picking up an SNES Classic
May as well just use an emulator and buy a modded usb SNES controller to save some cash.

I don't have a desktop so I'd be playing all my shit on my laptop. It's not a bad alternative, but I'd rather comfortably play stuff on my TV. Besides, they look pretty cool.

If you can get one affordably, it is the best way to go. OG hardware has all the soul that emulators will never be able to recreate.

It mirrors country credit ratings.

Marrow.
Literally the only horror metroidlike.

>doujin

WHY THE FUCK IS IT SO HARD TO FIND A FUN GAME ABOUT MINING THAT ISN'T A SHITTY ASSET FLIP OR COMPLETE COPY

>14 year old video games
>not retro
I don't know what arbitrary rules you're going by, but anything older than a decade is decidedly not current.

La-Mulana isn't /vr/

Spelunky is objectively the best game ever made but Transistor and Pyre are way better than gay ass Bastion.

I'm keeping my eye out for deals. I'm not going to pay inflated second hand market prices for one.

i took the indie pill years ago thanks to 2hu. thank you based ZUN.

/Vr/ sticky explicitly states games on platforms older than 1999.
Probably should be updated but dems the rules

Geometry Wars was my goddamned game

I'm going to be a warlock one day.

2 has the most soul, but 3 has way more variety in it's levels and scenario design.
