It's still a massive waste of money. I bought my phone for $500 off contract almost 3 years ago and it still works fine. I have no plans to upgrade anytime soon. Although on the other hand, I have a Galaxy Note 8 and don't plan on upgrading soon. In the past, I would always hit some sort of snag where my phone couldn't do something quite as well as I wanted it to, but I haven't hit that issue yet. I might not need to upgrade again until either dolphin emulation hits cells or 5G becomes nationwide.

Except those wireless earbuds cost considerably more than standalone headphones. Until wireless earbuds are as cost efficient as regular wired headphones, the headphone jack still has a place.

This is a controller though so subjective differences between 2 people is more important than objective matters. Subjectively for me, the Xbox layout will never be as comfortable. Again though, just because symmetrical movements are technically better, this doesn't mean you are as comfortable with those movements. In ergonomics, your subjective opinion is more important than objective details. The best world is where we both get to choose a control scheme that best suites our personal comforts, rather than trying to get everyone to conform to a single control scheme.

to be fair you can get bluetooth (not wireless) headphones of good quality for very cheap now, and there are not-airpod wireless ones in the $60-$70 range

LG Stylo 2, was just $80 to upgrade to it from my dying Alcatel One Touch Fierce 2. It's thin as hell, bigass screen, stylus (I never use), and awesome battery. I don't think I'll have to buy a new phone for another couple years, unless this one just dies on me for some reason or gets too outdated for my work needs. Whatever I get next though has to have a big screen though.
