In Assault Wolf isn't even a bad guy, hes an outlaw because he decided to work for Venom and Andros. Just like Fox he is a gun for hire. They work together because Aparoids are the bigger threat.

In command Wolf can save the fucking galaxy and become the hero, redeeming himself and his team for their past mistake of siding with Andros and Venom against Cornaria.
