Riddle me the success of the switch in Japan. Is it because the Japs are consistently on the go and out of their houses?

>microsoft in japan is basically dead
>sony is western focused and now starts censoring shit made in japan

>1.[NSW] Doraemon Story of Seasons
HE'S IN.

Nintendo's always done well in Japan.

another slow month

NINTENDO WON

they don't play on PC either

It's because it has games.

rip yokai watch

>week

>Vita was discontinued
>still selling better than the Xbone
Man, that's not even funny anymore.

explain

That plays a role. It's also the name brand of Nintendo in Japan, and their marketing is pretty aggressive for the switch over there. Spent last October over there and there's a lot of advertisements on TV, billboards, in streets and subways

Nintendo has always done well in Japan, the N64 sold nearly as much as the Saturn despite having an extremely western-focused library.

Saturn on the other hand was full of jarpigs, life sims, dating sims, visual novels and softcore hentai and it was Sega's most successful console there.

It's not released yet?

Only kinda new game on it selling is Smash though. They've had nothing for 2019 and most of 2018.

Switch aside, what incentive does your average Japanese gamer have to buy a PS4 or Xbone?

Remember nintoddles
NEVER EVER

dumb

Next week.

>They've had nothing for 2019 and most of 2018.
You're not paying attention to releases are yoou.

Stop buying Smash Bros already holy shit

Basically, yeah
The PSP, the DS, the 3DS and the Switch all did unusually well in Japan compared to the rest of the world.
The Switch in particular is really popular largely because it fulfills both a home console and a handheld, so it's a cost-saver

That's sad. The console that was a huge joke to the US and Europe was the only thing fondly remembered in Japan.

Because IIRC, Japan don't have as much nostalgia for the Megadrive as the Super Famicom.

>switch
>games

Nice to see Doraemon get a GOOD game for once. Then again, it's a licensed crossover with Harvest Moon, so how could they fuck it up?

too bad the japanese market is completely meaningless compared to the west
western sales make up 99% of total sales

>Best Price!
KEK. Capcom so desperate there. Just give that price to PC

Home console, handheld and soon E-reader since they have stuff like that comic book app on Switch now

wait, wat? Like comixology or some shit?

>western sales make up 99% of total sales
Who let the fucking kids use the computer?

>Over 8 million consoles sold is meaningless
Japan spends more money on vidyas than the US.
Never forget the tiers
China
Japan
US
Germany
Huge power gap
UK

gachashit doesnt count

It says too much that despite being on 3 platforms instead of 1, having the BIGGEST advertising by far in the series and pandering to the west while having a way bigger userbase(90mPS4,40mXONE,+150mPC capable of running this thing) only manages to sell 3 times more, all of this while having frequent discounts

Will we ever get any sales infograph from China? I am 100% sure they have a huge following of Nintendo community there, Mario is a memorable icon in China.

According to google it’s called Inky pen in the west.
Mainly has normie shit i’ve already read

Asian countries love handhelds, not just Japan alone.
PS4 is also gaining momentum, but Vita still have the largest Chinese translated games out of all consoles

They do
Last I heard China has switches but they’re more expensive because their hard to keep in stock

Tell me about it. A SHITLOAD of bootleg NES games and romhacks are all Mario hacks in some capacity. Although there was the occasional Megaman romhack (aka Darkwing Duck with Megaman instead)

>Switch still at mediocre 30k a week
Price drop incoming

>More sales than ps4+ps4 pro
>Surpassed ps4+ps4 pro lifetime sales in Japan
>Mediocre

>5.[NSW] Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! / Let’s Go, Eevee! (Bundle Editions Included) (Nintendo, 11/16/18) – 6,027 (1,553,472)
b-but nips hated the new pokemon!

Fifa lootboxes and fortnite skins don't count
Now US drops below the power gap

>1.5 million total
Yeah, they did

>Fifa
>US

It would've been so easy to say Madden or NBA

>Last I heard China has switches but they’re more expensive because their hard to keep in stock
That's kind of interesting actually

It is
Apparently China loves this thing unsurprisingly

>1.Switch – 34,321
Wow, that's anemic. Hopefully things start picking up again once SMM2 comes along.

Nintendo appointed Tencent as the sole distributer in China. But yet to start selling in China, actually.

Sony gives 5000 JPY discount for PS4 last two weeks and their sales had boosted 3 times than before. But Switch sold better than PS4 plus pro.

This thing here is going to absolutely consume Japan.

They had to chinese goverment forces all game companies to deal with tencent

Nah its a rerelease I think it will only do 2M there

>Appointed
We’re forced to deal with

>He doesn’t know about DQ day and how the whole city and schools would take the day off just to play Dragon’s quest
Fucking kek

Are there going to be any more Japanese PS4 exclusives? I don't see why there would be.

Not much difference between Switch and PS4 this week too and I remember PS4 going under 10k weeks ago. Did they release something new, are they having a discount or something like that?

...

Switch is technically behind in Japan compared to the rest of the world, it’s overpreforming there and underperforming in Japan. That is pretty much exclusively a cost issue since Japan wants it cheaper and the switch is still 30,000 yen. The mini revision is for Japan really. If they do a 20,000 yen console, let the good times roll

They like good games
