Bloodstained has tons of other modes coming our way, other characters, two more difficulty modes, and probably one of the biggest ability/weapon rosters out of any Castlevania game. So it's replayability is through the roof. Not to mention Curse of the Moon was an extra kino bonus. Look I love Hollow Knight too but this shitty bait is just getting ridiculous now.

Me too dude. I don't get it though. They must have some other sort of income or live with their parents completely rent free. I have around that amount and can live max 3 years without working and i'm pretty frugal. I can't imagine several people living off it for several years, though it paid off big time.

I like the game but boy it's still overpriced as hell. The art direction is also all voer the place thanks to some oversaturated colors, a bit of visual noise but mostly the shitty backers painting and enemies. Should've done it like HK and have a separate gallery for it. Also the game is failry short.

Even with all that shit added base-game HK still has more content, much better art and is just overall a much better game. BS is a fucking embarrassment of a kickstarter.

I'm 9h in and already got 2 endings. Surely there's still things to do but I got 24h just for the story in HK (and grimm) and missed about 1/3 of the bosses.

I do feel it's less BS being bad and more HK having a fuckton of content for a couple coins, but it still puts things into perspective. Also I really dislike the visuals fro BS, they looks really rusty and the enviroments are weird, contrast way too much with the characters and the greyscale values are straight horrible.

Bloodstained beats it in the sheer amount of weapons and skills you can have. Not saying that HK's simplicity is a bad thing but clearly the devs for BS focused a lot on what made SotN/AoS/DoS great.

I never said it was a metroid clone. I just said that It leaned more on the Metroid side. It sure as shit doesnt have any RPG elements.

They already had parts of the game done and already knew what to do to finish it, which makes things much easier, also they paid the composer with sales percentage and used family/friends to voice the characters, which allowed to cut costs. TC also didn't have it's own office at the time, they either worked from home or in a shared workplace

It means it skewed more towards Metroid's focus on exploration and non-linearity. And sure HK might have had combat but it didn't have the intense RPG mechanics that the "vania" part of the genre offered.

Reminder that they took like a small loan from some indie funding organization too. So 57k isn't the full budget.

It's really shameful that excellent games like Hollow Knight with top notch controls, art design, graphics, mechanics, tons of content, etc. are $15 with free DLC. While Bloodstained that you can play through your first time in a day is $40 with $10 day one DLC.

Same with Cuphead. Just oozing with passion and love for the genre and industry as a whole. The attention to detail is just unreal, it doesn't even feel like a game like that or Hollow Knight should even exist in this current age of shallow, bloated AAA garbage churned out for a quick buck regardless of quality. And it was also less than half the price of Shitstained to boot.

How ironic considering HK IS shallow and bloated. Probably the reason why it got so popular in the first place, it felt like a trash AAA game but for a quarter of the price.
