this game would be better if the enemies that appeared in episodes werent self contained to them. having more enemy varierty across many levels is better than having them show up in 3 levels and nowhere else

i havent played Amid Evil since november of last year, what was wrong with episode 3?

It was supposed to come out within like a month but Iron Maiden had to go and ruin everything

Mainly the enemies just not feeling fun to fight compared to other episodes.

Ep1 > 4 > 3 > 5 > 2

Happy for everyone who was looking forward to this game. For my taste it's too heavy on the flashy and shiny stuff imo. The game looks like it could have been made with the old Quake III engine.
Personally not a fan of anything Unreal Engine 3+ and how everything looks.

Nah, Maximum Action got bought by New Blood publishing(the Dusk guy) to breathe life back into the game. New Blood also publish Amid Evil though and I think the Dusk Guy has helped a little, or at least done all the publicity stuff for them

The architecture and visual design is genuinely outstanding and leans pretty heavily into surrealism to further into the game you get while the flow and general layout is pretty straightforward with one or two clear routes through a level and no big deviations, encounter design feels very mobby a lot of the time due to the abundance of melee type enemies in the game and the general mobility of all enemies.

Every level has its share of secrets but most of them amount to a little nook with a powerup in it rather than anything more elaborate like letting you sequence break or something fun like that (although there are a few of these too).

Overall it reminds me a lot of the OG Unreal.

David is also working on a new fantasy game himself entirely separate from Maximum Action
