Okay, it's actually looking like I can plausibly get enough Damage Points to get the Kintoki from this event, because I made friends with someone whose Servant can carry me through the 6m oni. The Noble Phantasm seems far less likely though. I'm getting a decent amount of wicker baskets but I don't think it'll be enough to hit 1200, to say nothing of the other two materials. I just started this event too late, I don't think I have time.
How important is leveling his NP? Is he still good with it at level 1? I heard the sumo CE is one of the best items in the game, so maybe it's better to prioritize getting copies of that? What's the quickest way to farm materials for that? Keeping in mind that I may not be able to handle the level 90 quests.

Hot Springs, 40AP run. If you can't do 40AP, nothing else will help you for the oni basket. If you can do it, might as well use up golden apples to get Kintoki Rider's 5th NP. Sumo Wrestling iz just an NP starting 50% battery and strength plus, there will be others similar but it is good as is especially for F2P players. I'd priotize Kintoki NP5, though. Sumo, don't lose your head over missing it, precharge NP for f2p come ans go, you might even get better ones from gacha rolls down the line.

Right on, thanks. AP shouldn't be a huge problem for me since I'm still relatively low level so I keep leveling up constantly and getting more, and I have a few apples on top of that. I'll see what I can do. Does that quest drop a lot of the other two as well or is there a different quest that's better for them?

Like Elizabeth Bathory Brave. She is the highest damage dealer on Lancers because she is a welfare and NP5 will deal huge damage, but even a 3* Bedivere will deal bigger damage than her when he is NP5
Welfare servants are scaled to the same statline as a 3 star servant, with the benefit of being able to level it to 80 without a grail. Their nps are also scaled to basicly do average np famage at np5, and at lower levels your looking at a np1 three star np ehich isn't too much. 5 stars are naturally scalled the be decent at np1, with np2 usually improving the damage by ×1.5.
Do your best to get both, but if you can't, focus on Kintoki. Rider Kintoki is one of the strongest attackers in the game to this day in JP. There are Sumo replacements, but no Rider Kintoki replacements.

Kintoki is okay at level 1, but because he has good NP charge to get the most out of him you'll want that NP5 or as high as you can.
I'd probably go for the sumos first though, since having them will help you with grinding for the matierals. If you're just starting off I'd recommend doing the summit to get a decent amount of all the mats, then focus on Hot Springs 40AP for the gold ones since those will be the toughest to grind for.
