I believe that my opinions are equally relevant as well, however, my ultimate desire is to universally reduce human suffering. If I believe that there is a choice that will fulfill this, I will pick this choice. If there are multiple choices that fulfil this, I will choose the one that is most tailored to me.
For example, if there is a policy that will majorly elevate the needy at a minor cost to the exceptional, I believe that this will reduce human suffering and be willing to put my faith behind this option; I believe that it will do more good than keeping the needy in suffering and the exceptional a little bit more comfortable. Obviously most choices aren't as simple as this, but I hope it illustrates my point adequately.
I would also mention that I, like most people (I would assume), have a bias towards myself. I would be more than willing to make compromises that lower my own wellbeing for the greater good, but I would not be willing to totally sacrifice myself or my integrity for it unless it was truly, wholly a worthy cause.
In short, I would like to raise the overall quality of life for people. If a large positive change requires me to be slightly less comfortable, so be it. If the change requires me to be utterly trampled upon, I will most likely provide great resistance, as I have a bias for myself.
