Power to you. But it has major issues. It was sold unfinished (and will forever be so). And the combat (while fun and has lots of options) is very unbalanced. It’s virtually impossible to die since you can infinitely heal with items. And the combat can boil down to hold circle or square.

However, for what is actually given, the main characters are quite developed (except Luna), and the bonds between the 4 bros is very well crafted.
Had XV been handled properly it would have been one of the greatest games ever, but it wasn’t, so...tough beans.

Eh, I liked the DLC we got. Comrades was the iffiest one, and I'm happy with Episode Ardyn since it still doesn't necessarily contradict the main game. The rest of the Dawn of the Future DLC would have completely fucked the lore though. And I guess it's an alternate scenario so it's okay if character motivations are different, but it bothers me that they ever considered it.

see I feel that's why it got cancelled, it already had a kind of spurious purpose of rewriting the ending. If they focused on making Nibelheim open world it would have been GOAT

Hm. I didn’t think about that, but you’re actually pretty right. The main party being tropes isn’t necessarily bad. They were each their own characters and developed in some way.
I also don’t think Noctis is an anime trope. People actually expected him to be a Sasuke clone. But he’s actually very grounded, often lazy and a huge derp at times.
He’s basically like a real human.
