1. Power creep - to clarify, Kari joined late in the series so Tailmon skips having to go through an extra phase in order to save on animation.
2. It appeals to little girls because whilst boy kids love watching dinosaurs turn into mecha dinosaurs, girls don't care so much for progression so long as it's cute.
3. The in-universe reason is that its gloves have loaded the data of an Ultimate-level Digimon (SaberLeomon) so that boosts its power significantly.

Vamdemon never knew Tailmon was the 8th's Digimon. He didn't find out until they tried to steal the real crest from him.

Digimon life cycle
The japanese names make it a little more evident:
egg>baby1>baby2>Child (rookie in english)>Adult(champion in english)>Perfect>Ultimate
As a digimon grows, accumulates data, and becomes stronger, it reaches higher levels. Lore-wise, a "normal" digimon's life cycle should just be from egg to adult, then it dies and reformats into a new egg. Perfect level is for those that have gone above and beyond in gaining strength, like the best of the best, masters of their arts, etc. (Many early digimon achieved this by turning themselves into cyborgs to extend their lifespan). Ultimate is for those who've gone beyond even that, and are (supposed to be) exceptionally rare. Basically like demigods at that point.
Digimon are supposed to progress through each stage naturally, but for marketing reasons the anime had them always revert back to their child forms.

The Holy Ring gives her powers on par with Champion, when she lost it in 02 she was only as strong as the other rookies which is why she had to rely on Digimetals.

I think Gatomon debuted in the virtual pet before they even thought about putting it in the anime, where it was a champion. It ended up working out well for them, since it allowed Gatomon to be a physical threat of sorts during her debut arc and meant she didn't need to unlock two trasformations to catch up to the other kids (although Angemon was a champion that was always fighting alongside the ultimates, so that was never much of an issue).

The anime and the official descriptions in the Reference Book have two different justifications for the same thing (Gatomon and the other smol cats like Mikemon and Blackgatomon being strong despite being small), more or less. It's a bit like how Mamemon is so powerful despite being so small because they're compressed to a tiny size

Games that used touch screen and touch pad had to be updated for the PS TV and a lot didn't but thanks to Vita modding you can play any game you want now and can change the controls.

yes. It's the best monster raising game I've ever played. So much wonder and adventure in that weird digital world.
Your companion is a living being you need to train and take care of, whereas Pokemon are glorified jrpg weapon slots.
You do need a guide to wrap your head around the basics.

I haven't played Digimon World 1 since I was a kid and wanna actually finish it for once, you seem to have played it a lot, is there anything I need to know? Some version differences (ie Europe vs American version) or some tips? I don't really remember much about the game, only that I constantly got Sukamon and that I didn't get very far.

Angemon is a very strong Champion Digimon so that's why its able to somewhat keep up.
Its usually why it's quite long winded to unlock in most Digimon games.

Takeru's Angemon isn't strong compared to the other adult Digimons of the group, it's just has Heaven's Knuckle, which is very effective against evil Digimons like Devimon or Vamdemon

Not the other user but I know the EU version had a major bug that prevents you from finishing the game, you either have to get a patch for it of play the US version. Just follow one of the really great guides on gamefaqs or something. When it comes to World 1 you pretty much have to plan ahead and know what digimon you want to get and stay from certain areas if you digimon's tier is low as you can be ambushed by bosses if you're not careful. This game is guide heavy but luckily it has enough fans to make some really good and detailed guides with pictures.

The Andromon in Tamers devolves to Guardromon from being heavily injured and never evolves back to Perfect level even after becoming a partner Digimon.
