Island has no comfy puzzles, has the "sprint though this location mindlessly while shit blows up around you" section, has Krauser who is a fag, the worst mid boss enemy (Salvador and Garrador are way better), just more action in general and less mystery/creepiness of the location, worst boss fights.

Castle is the best part of the game, gameplay-wise. Most enemy and scenario variety, and you have a wide arsenal to play with without there being tons of gimmicky shit like the dudes with bulletproof armor or the J.J.s.
Village has the best atmosphere though, for sure.

Zero's item system was way better than the other classic RE game. I love REmake, but it was bullshit how you'd get into situations like you pick up a key item, only to realize you won't be using it any time soon, but you can't just place it on the floor or back where you found it, so you have to have it clog up your inventory until you get to an item room. Or just being able to drop something really quick while you pick up and mix/use an herb.

That's not the issue. Yes, the island has a lot of good stuff in it. But it's also just overly long and not well paced. It's definitely one of those times where they should've just wrapped the game up, and every time you THINK you're nearing the conclusion, you end up having an entire additional chapter or two to trudge through.

It's also not "bad". It's just a step down from the village and the castle IMO.

In my standard play-through i used the semi-auto rifle. My last run was Handgun only, so that area was very difficult because of the shield guys and trying not to hit Ashley while she raised the platforms.
