I am very tempted to pull the trigger on buying a Switch, but before I do I want to make sure that it's really worth it.
After becoming depressed I lost all interest in video games and couldn't stand to play them. Recently I started to play Minecraft with my girlfriend because I hadn't played it in years, and thought it'd be fun. Turns out I was right. Then I got to thinking about other games I haven't played in a long time that'd make video games enjoyable for me again.
What came to mind was Mario. Super Mario Bros, Mario Party, Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, etc. These all happen to be on the Switch, and I intend to play them with my girlfriend. Right now we only plan on playing Mario Party together. But I don't want to spend $400 on a console just to play one game.
So tell me Yea Forums, is it worth purchasing this console? Do you think there's a change it'll reinvigorate my love for video games?
Just look up it's library and if you see exclusives you like get it.
I dont care for nintendo IPs or ports but I drank the hype koolaid thinking that it'd get a ton of new IPs and RPGs then bought the switch at launch. 2 years later it's the biggest buyers remorse I've ever had. I'm gonna sell the thing off while it's still worth something soon, just waiting for fire emblem three houses first.

Wait to see the new models anounced. If you don't like what's there, get the regular switch. It's very fucking worth it.

The Mario Kart on the switch is, in my opinion, the best controlling and fastest entry in the series yet with the 200cc option. Kart Creation also adds more to the game than you'd think. Super Mario party is fun as fuck if you can get past the fact that there's only 4 stages and they're small-medium sized. Lots of characters and each one having a unique optional dice is fun as shit. Smash Ultimate is shaping up to be my favourite fighting game. Inb4 >fighting game. It's just fun as fuck. And we got Banjo. Mario Maker 2 looks phenomenal Luigi's Mansion 3 looks even better Hollow Knight and other great indies are on the switch too, inb4 >indies We might even be getting a new Banjo Kazooie game based on an Amazon Germany listing
In short, get a switch fren. Don't dive in like crazy or you'll just wear yourself out again after one binge. I hope you find more enjoyment in shit again user
This, except Smash, Mario x Rabbids, Zelda, and Odyssey should be in god tier.

What this based user said, plus BOTW 2 is being developed, and it's supposedly "a bit darker than Majora's" story or atmosphere wise, we don't know how yet. Also, Mario X Rabbids is so goddamn underhyped and ignored. It's a top tier Grant Kirkhope soundtrack mixed with a unique movement-prioritizing-guns-second XCOM feel.
