There's no reason to preorder games in 2019 unless they're some extremely obscure, niche title (one probably comes packaged with a baby bib) that your local store would realistically only have one or two copies of. Retailers don't run out of even middle of the road games these days, and on the off chance they do you can just go to almost any other store that sells video games and pick up a copy there. I haven't seen a game with a legitimate supply shortage in almost a decade.
