It made enough money that the studio is currently working on two games, this one and another one unrelated to Agony called Paranoid.
We don't know much about Paranoid but it seems like you can fight back against the monsters but only a little.

Well it IS called agony, which is what I felt playing that piece of shit. So at least the devs weren't lying.

In the tunnels the colors were shaded weirdly and made blood look purple. It was red everywhere else but no one cared about that because there was purple blood in tunnels.

Specifically, the trailer scene where the guy stacked bricks on babies took place in an area with the weird blood shading in-game, leading to a censorship outcry, but it was just something true in that tunnel lighting. They fixed that in a patch even before Uncensored version.

I never even finished it at release because it was so fucking buggy, as such I don't really know how much changed in the unrated version.

Succubus mode was a much, MUCH better experience than the default story mode, but that's not saying much since the story mode fucking sucked.

The fact that they acknowledged that and are moving in this direction gives me little hope they might actually make a decent game this time.

It's been too long since I played Agony. Isn't the story something like N was married to the Whore of Babylon in life, and once she starts the Revelations thing with the Beast, N regains his memories and takes over Hell as king? I feel like the succubus was called queen somewhere after she regains her wings, but there wasn't any real connection between her and N. Even the thing with the baby - N is told to pick any of the women present and he just grabs her as the closest.

Fcked If I know, I barely understood the story but apparently the agony mc is the new king of hell despite going back to earth in the last game and the mc of this one is his queen.

It seems you forgot how the first ending pans out. It gave me a laugh. After you escape Hell, the biblical Revelations triggers, and you witness with Beast rising from the sea with the Whore of Babylon - and then the Beast steps on you in passing, killing you and sending you back to Hell to start over.

There's a lot of time fuckery if you consider the connection between endings, so damned if I know. For example, you free the winged chort the first time you play, and he's gone in NG+. However, when you get the evil ending and impregnate the succubus, the player (as a chort) gets imprisoned. Your next NG+ playthrough will have an imprisoned chort again, like it's all a time loop.

And then it's like 3 re-playthroughs before the succubus gives birth and N becomes king.

I am assuming it's intentional but I am unsure because I had another cutscene fail to trigger earlier in the game and drop me in a debug room instead, and this was after the bugs were patched.

Agony was the biggest disappointment of 2018. How did the game sell enough to justify a sequel? I'm certainly not going to excited for that shit again.

They released Agony Unrated on Steam. If you bought the first game, you get the unrated version for free. On consoles, they ported over as much as they could from the Unrated version without getting an AO rating.
