Not trying to shitpost or anything, but is anyone else just fucking sick of hearing about this nothing game? I don't even have anything against Kojima really, even if its been a long time since he's made a good game. Seriously though, holy fuck, how many years has it been and all we get are arthouse short films about nothing in particular and some madeup bullshit nothing "genre"?
What the fuck is this game supposed to be? Why am I supposed to care? Why is it going to be fun? Is "Kojima is making it!" really enough?
No because I don't really hear much about it. A new trailer comes out like every 6 months, people talk for a week and then there's nothing again. And it seems like it's a bit different at the very least. I get more sick of hearing about lootboxes and AAA companies being shitty.
Every announcement about it is just that theres another shitty actor.
Owen Walker
>Kojima spends more time tweeting about eating hamburgers in hollywood with his favourite actors than talking about his first fucking game as an independent studio
Camden Morris
>Seriously though, holy fuck, how many years has it been and all we get are arthouse short films about nothing in particular and some madeup bullshit nothing "genre"? It was announced at E3 in 2016. It also had to shut down production do to the SAG strike. The game has taken less than three years to make. Add to it that Kojima was setting up a brand new with staff and using a new engine. For a 'AAA' game this is incredibly fast especially considering all the above factors. I wish more dev teams worked this fast. As for your other points they are mostly subjective.

desu I hadn't seen a thread in a while til this one

>you are actually playing as the baby in Death Stranding weeeeew
I've been over Kojima for a while, and frankly, I'm disgusted at the people who continue to give him a free pass, despite him essentially taking a giant continuous wet shit for the last 10+ years.
>MGS4 was "Nanomachines: The Movie: The 'Game'" >Peace Walker was mediocre at best ("Zadornov has escaped again!" padding was bullshit) >Ground Zeroes was a glorified demo >The Phantom Pain went ridiculously overbudget and over schedule, resulted in an unfinished disappointing product being thrust upon fans, and apparently soured Konami on making games enough to where they peaced out on the industry in general. >Sony essentially handed Kojima a blank check, and he's basically pulling the same bullshit he did with TPP
The only concession I will give to him is that I liked PT, but again, it was a glorified proof of concept tech demo.
Jason Thompson
GZ was pretty good though as far as 30 dollar demos go. I think the only thing Kojima is capable of making these days is demos. He has to stay on task when his writing is confined into 30 minutes. He also has to show off the talent of the studio who has carried him this far and their magnificent game mechanic programming skills.
But unfortunately he seems to have forgone them entirely.
Zachary Cox
>Not trying to shitpost or anything, but is anyone else just fucking sick of hearing about this nothing game no, i'm sick that I barely hear anything about it. this game is literally making me eat my fingers out, i need to find out what it is. also i used to feel the same way you do after e3 2018 but release date trailer ticket'd me back on the hypetrain.

>interested in this garbage Kill yourself tasteless nigger

>What the fuck is this game supposed to be? You play as a USPS Postal Inspector hired by the President to ensure packages are delivered to the separated US cities. As you venture through the wilderness you will encounter package thieves and attempt to subdue them, dead or alive. Along the way you discover the cause of the cataclysmic event that befell the world...
Jeremiah Evans
>pretty good though as far as 30 dollar demos go ITS NOT A FUCKING DEMO IF YOU SPEND MONEY ON IT IT WASN'T A DEMO, IT WAS JUST THE FIRST MISSION FROM THE GAME SOLD AT HALF THE FUCKING PRICE OF A FULL GAME
>tfw the MGS meme never fucking ended and he ended up getting fired from Konami before we ever got Boktai 3 in NA or a bundle/re-release of the Boktai trilogy >the games will never get any sort of revival or anything because Kojima is gone and the games died with a fucking whimper with that garbage Lunar Knights spinoff/reboot on the DS FUCK Kojima and FUCK Metal Gear Solid
shoot things craft things stealth fight big boss monster run from things
This game makes Yea ForumstendoGaf so mad they will literally lie about it to make themselves feel better.
Nathaniel Moore
This game sure trigger tendies.
Aiden Martin
I guess you're talking about seeing discussion on other sites? Most threads here are for whining about Kojima and die in under 200 posts. I think it looks really interesting, and that last trailer showed it clearly isn't a "walking simulator."
>Why am I supposed to care? you are making a thread about it
Cameron Thompson
I liked his other games, I'm asking what the appeal of this new one is supposed to be aside from "OMG KOJIMA SO DEEEEEEP!"
Cameron Perez
Nice.

>The Phantom Pain went ridiculously overbudget and over schedule, resulted in an unfinished disappointing product being thrust upon fans, and apparently soured Konami on making games enough to where they peaced out on the industry in general. Kojima has never gone over budget in his career. Konami didn't 'peace out' of gaming because of the financially successful Phantom Pain. They were planning that for quite sometime. Konami wanted to make mobile games and Kojima didn't. That's why he didn't renew his contract and toughed it out. I'm honestly glad he did. He was high profile enough that western people started looking into the awful practices of Konamiand Japanese game companies in general and it actually saved a bunch of careers. When Kojima left a bunch of others did too. Some joined with him and others didn't. But all the 'ex-kons' whether they went to work for Kojima or freelance were being denied health insurance. Had this not turned into a giant story in the west those guys would be dead. Kojima said that he was going to do something that might make it so he could never make a video game again. Most thought that he was talking about edgy child murders in MGSV, but he was talking about the risk of leaving Konami. You can't have a game studio in Japan without health insurance and its kenpo, a big health insurance company, was trying to deny all 'ex-kons' insurance. Turns out its kenpo's chairman just happens to be a director at Konami. So far Sony seems very happy with the progress of the game. We'll see how it is quite soon. At the very least I think it looks interesting and I'm actually excited to see a new game that Kojima is actually excited about making without being forced to put out a product that he isn't happy with. November is right around the corner.
Andrew Perez
I was hyped for that game up until the point I found out it's gonna have somekind of always online type of thing where you're forced to interact with other players. That's an immediate yikes for me, Kojima should just stop it with that shit. FOB's were a fucking chore.
Isaac Gutierrez
>ITS NOT A FUCKING DEMO IF YOU SPEND MONEY ON IT star citizen players btfo!
You have to accept Kojima with the good and the bad. Even at his best he contrived a lot of bullshit that breaks suspension of disbelief into his plots just to railroad them into the extremely specific direction he wants even though the natural progression of the setting and plot would be very different. This is why I'm not a fan of him, but I also don't dislike him. I just accept his strengths and flaws.
Jeremiah Jenkins
>stop being interested in things i'm not
There are literally 3 or 4 trailers out. Two of them have gameplay. Go watch them if you want to know. Seems like you're salty that people are interested in it.
John Walker
Why do you seem personally offended that I don't understand the appeal of this game?
Colton Smith
This game looks good.
Michael White
The game’s premise sound intriguing.
Jonathan White
So far we've seen that you travel through a post-apocalyptic landscape carrying out missions and deliveries, avoiding horrible oil/tar sea monster ghosts which are absolutely invisible until you turn on your fetus radar, and escaping from or fighting some kind of bandits tracking your cargo. We've seen some MGS-esque characters/bosses, one that can summon Beached Things and one that seems to drag an entire war zone with him wherever he goes. We've seen vehicles, guns, and melee combat. The LUDENS space knight armor is the most provocative part if you consider what it might be used for.
I agree. It looks neat. And it isn't Metal Gear. I'm interested in seeing what a hungry developer makes. KojiPro isn't only making games. Their mission statement is make whatever the fuck they want. Sounds good to me.
Isaiah Lewis
I only play Kojima games to watch sexy women get violently abused. Will DS satisfy me?
Ethan Foster
First tool man invented was STICK if you know what I'm saying.
Jaxon Young
If game don't flash you strobes in eyes, rape your ears and penetrates at least 2 of zoomers holes it's fucking trash.
Anything that isn't a 30 minute demo showing everything you can do in the game is just confusing and upsetting.
Kevin Cruz
Boktai 3 was never localized because Boktai 1&2 bombed outside Japan. Most gamers in the west are too shut-ins to play a game that literally requires sunlight to proceed.
Joseph Morris
I'm a shut in but I still woke my ass up with enthusiasm at the break of dawn to go outside in -40C weather to beat bosses in Boktai 2
Those games were fucking great, I don't know why we haven't gotten a real spiritual successor yet, there was so much to do and it was all so fucking clever. Even the gay shit like having to run on that dumb fucking treadmill for 5 hours was charming
Wyatt Gomez
wow you gobble all yongshit lies like it's truth. 1) not more than 5 former kojipro are in the new kojipro, over hundred of them are still in konami so he didn't save anybody from "evil konami" 2) there are multiple insurance companies in japan a worker can apply to and it's generally a bad idea to have as a client someone you had had controversy before becuase he can use that as weapon against you when trying to demand undeserved compensations so he can just apply to another insurance company, japan has a free market nor some kind of monopoly. 3) the myth of konami or japanese game companies in general being any worst of western ones is laughable when it's proven that even the most renowned western studios like naughty dog and rockstar treat their employed like shit over and over again and with direct witnesses instead of just newspaper articles, i bet in fact that now staff in kojipro is doing crunch as hell while kojima will fly to comicon and play the victim some more.
Josiah Hall
im happy for this game because it will prove once and for all that Kojima is a hack and people only shilled on him for the same reason they shill on Game of Thrones, collective euphoria around anything to pretend they have a life.
Carson Thompson
I don't think you can showcase 30 min demo without spoiling plot. Besides they showed gameplay already so what you need more. At that point it's just spoilers.
Jackson Nguyen
This game is basically Marketing: The Marketing. They've got it all, that shiny sony logo, the kojima name and random hollywood stars.
