I don't have any expectations at all, it looks shit from the get go. The 3D is horrible and i mean a fucking twin stick shooter.
Not like this Konami.

The graphics are shit but i'm actually hopeful about the rest.
the game is made by the director of hard corps and contra 3 after all.
here's an interesting interview by the director. siliconera.com/2019/06/14/contra-rogue-corps-producer-on-making-a-brand-new-game-in-the-classic-co-op-series/

Game also seem to be made fairly quicky, the artist that did all the cutscenes and some arts was only contracted at the beginning of the year.

When will Konami just sell their IPs to Sony or Nintendo?

Considering most of the old staff actually is still there, i fucking hope never.

This look like a fun little co-op game, I think I'll grab it

there's like a billion games like this on steam and it doesn't look polished or tight at all

Attached: 1543974499181.jpg (318x364, 32K)

Bomberman R didn't look polished at first but they fixed it after the announcement and fixed it even more in patches.
it's probably the same.

At least the game is confirmed to have zero microtransaction. it seem it's the "bomberman R" of Contra. they probably keep the "high budget" games for Castlevania and Metal Gear.

>they probably keep the "high budget" games for Castlevania and Metal Gear.
user i...

Here's your main character. it's 100% the same guy.

6 feet under

As long as it's fun and full of typical Contra crazy, i could be worth it.

They added a new studio for vidya, removed some shit in the pachinko because it's dead, are confirmed to have most of the old kojipro, including the main programmer of MGS1-2-3 who left kojipro back during the MGS4 dev.

As for Castlevania, Iga said he would return for a new game if asked very recently. and considering the popularity of the netflix serie, Requiem and the anniversary collection (a second one probably is already in work), a new game would be very possible.

youtube.com/watch?v=QSdZxznpc-E
Did a little research after this thread, gameplay looks absolutely okay

I like twin stick shooters but this one looks pretty ehh. It will probably be fun though, even if they graphics are shit.

It looks like a game that was canned early last gen and resurrected.

I have no worries about the gameplay, like the director said in , he just wanted to make a fun game.
Graphics are very shit but they could fix them a little before the release and with Patches, similar to Bomberman R (I'm not sure about the engine but it seem to be Unity, so the team of this contra must be the old contra guys + the bomberman r team.)

The only overhead shooters I ever liked were Shock Troopers so pretty low.

Extremely low, the 3/HC director being involved means it will probably at least show some basic understanding of arcade game design but on the other hand it also probably means that it will be another shitty boss rush like his other games. Gameplay itself looks like Nex Machina more than Neo Contra, and its unlikely that will be topped.

>boss rush
>shitty

Which ones did you even play? A lot of worthwhile run n guns are top down. For example OutZone, Gun.Smoke, Pocky and Rocky, Robotron, Nex Machina and others

cant sell something that's worthless

>people saying it looks nothing like Contra
>Contra has had overhead stages since Super C

Attached: 1521525032339.png (211x213, 87K)

>OutZone, Pocky and Rocky, Robotron
I played these, actually. It just doesn't click with me like sidescroller do.

Most people who says that probably never played Contra.
I could understand some people angry about MGsurvive (even if it's just a spin off and so it's normal it's different) but this Contra, even if in 3D, isn't very different from the other 3D games.

it's like those saying it's "too whacky" for contra, jesus did they even played the other games? there's a dog contra and a plant contra for god's sake.

Attached: z_5d0222ef9c51c.jpg (1614x800, 209K)

I kind of like it, but you have to like the alt levels in old contra games, honestly I think it was a mistake showing the switch version, just made it look like ass

People also say that Hard Corps Uprising isn't tr00 Contra, just because it has anime graphics. Who even cares what people say, I'm just waiting for proper gameplay footage.

This has got to be that extremely old Contra game that Konami mentioned way back around the Wii era or whenever it was, before the dropped gaming altogether only for the game to never be mentioned again. No?
That has got to be it right? It certainly looks like a game from a from a couple of generations ago, pulled out of development hell to be wrapped up for release.

The game is ugly as fuck but the gameplay looks great and in true Contra spirit. I wish it looked better

Yeah that usually means "it doesn't look like my favorite parts of 1-3"

>People also say that Hard Corps Uprising isn't tr00 Contra, just because it has anime graphics.
It looks more like a Guilty Gear spinoff ghan Contra. Great game though.

>Konami
rock bottom.

Even if there were overhead stages, most of the other stages were classic run n gun 2D stages. Also, this game looks like shit, i prefer looking at Contra 1

The other version also seem like ass. here's the xbox one, maybe the pc one will be better thought.
I doubt it's that, but the uglyness is probably because it seem to be a "minor project", the devs doesn't even hide it. but maybe you are right, we will only be able to see that by datamining the game on PC.

Attached: z_5d0222ef7ec73 (1).jpg (1920x1049, 420K)

LOOKS yeah, plays very much like Contra nothing personell edition though

>twin stick co-op shooter
>Looks pretty fun
Sign me the fuck up

Do you think a world with both Castlevania and Bloodstained side by side is too much to ask for? Because that's kind of what I want, but perhaps not the most likely scenario.

Graphics are bad but I barely give a shit. I'm getting My Friend Pedro this week and that game is super bland visually. If it plays well and has silly over the top setpueces it's good.

Play SMASH TV and find a Robotron cabinet.

there's also a PVP mode apparently.
4 vs 4, or another mode 3 vs 1.

That cover looks like a fake game from a tv show or something

>Hey man, I got the new CONTRA Rogue Corps!!

Concept wise I thought that it looks pretty good. Shame about the horrible graphics.

That's pretty nice. It'll be lots of fun to play with the bros.

it actually does look like a ps2 game but I'm not going to write it off. It could very well be a fun game.

I played the SNES version because I like The Running Man. Meh.

Would you stick your dick in Gut Bucket?

There's an alternate cover for the preorder edition made by the guy who did the contra 3 cover (and a lot of the old konami games cover.)
they also got a guy who does a lot of MG fan arts for the animated cutscenes.

Attached: c-contra-38315040-1526-698.jpg (1526x698, 468K)

Which orifice?

I know the game is more "niche" but i'm surprised there's no porn yet.

The one with the most teeth.

>Nakazato still works at Konami
ROCKET KNIGHT FOX ENGINE REMAKE WHEN

Looks fun but hate artstyle that looks too cartoony. Will pirate it for local coop.

>My Friend Pedro
Oh, that's coming out this week? Thanks for the heads up, user.

20th, date got announced at Devolver's E3 Direct. It's doing a pre-purchase sale of you're cheap like me and want to save 3 bucks.

A few hours ago the Contra Collection got an update that added japanese versions and (thank God) button mapping. So now you can play HC with hit points and infinite continues if you're a filthy casual.

Attached: contra_girls__by_kurohaneco-d87y4mt.jpg (600x240, 55K)

>button mapping
was this added for the other collections aswell?

>expecting ANYTHING for konami

Capcom managed to get better, and Konami actually did some alright things recently.
we are still a bit far, but i'm sure they can get better.

Capcom become worse with tranny looking characters unlike their beautiful character design of past.

nonexistant

At least it isn't pachinko

>over the top view shooter
Fucking really?

Here you go bro :^)

HIROYUKI

Attached: 2649.jpg (594x240, 122K)

Yes.

I doubt any pachinkos will happen soon, Konami kinda said in their recent reports they are distancing themselves from them for now.
also, here's probably the future game for Konami future. (+ Contra rogue corps and the PC port of Bombergirl)

Castlevania collection 2 is definetely happening, Suikoden probably is next.

Attached: 0.jfif.jpg (1200x627, 399K)

Just finished watching this. Gameplay looks pretty fun actually, i expected worse. This also looks way better visually than the switch version trailer that i saw on the nintendo e3 stream. Id like to see the ps4 and switch version aide by side to see the difference.

I like the robot

I'd fuck Menat.

>Konami make a kino baseball game
>probably is the nicest fox engine game they ever did (not confirmed to be fox but it looks a lot like it.)
>it's japan online
FUCKRKFRJFRTNGRTLGNTRGRGT

Attached: pro-yakyuu-spirits-2019-574641.11.jpg (640x640, 120K)

just get excited for Blazing Chrome and Valfaris instead.

>Konami kinda said in their recent reports they are distancing themselves from them for now.
Is Pachinko dying in Japan?

Why the fuck do the CV and Contra collections bit have the Rebirth games? I get why there's no Contra 4 but Rebirth games are basically higher-quality SNES titles you could port to anything. They're also officially dead with Wiiware.

>it's japan online
i meant only, got a fucking brainfart

Attached: Pro-Yakyuu-Spirits-2019_2019_01-12-19_004.jpg (1920x1080, 662K)

Konami certainly has an... eclectic range of characters to say the least. Wait, there was a Pro Yakkun Soccer game?!

Yes, because of some laws against gambling last year. it's not for nothing that Capcom is releasing more games
Konami also did no new pachinkos since the MGS3 one.

They might be going chronologically. This would mean they should be in later collections.

Yeah, there was one last year, it's PS4 and Japan only.

Because they're classic/nostalgia/legacy collections.
It's like asking why the Mega Man one didn't have Powered Up.

Less that, more mobile is getting bigger. Konami has actually been making a shit-load of mobile games. They just never leave Japan. For instance; they made a Jump Smash clone for mobile that that is way better than Jump Force.

I think they will just focus on IIDX
...do they still do the yearly PES?

Collection 2 probably is going to have PC engine Rondo, PS1 Sotn, and the 3 GBA/3 ds games.
They don't really release a lot of games, but they have a good support on them. but the mobile game team is different from the console game one (the one that got a new studio last year.)
There's Castlevania grimoire of souls for this year...and it's actually alright according to some.

Attached: meh.png (485x161, 9K)

>Two kinds of currency
Yeah, that's gonna be a big red flag for me.

Thats a shame.

Yeah, PES2020 was announced this E3, but it got a different name now.
I don't really play sport games but according to some they did some cool new things.

Attached: ajRr736ptHXLcVGKvDyEu3.jpg (1920x1080, 1.08M)

Confirmed to have zero microtransaction user

Attached: contra.png (591x205, 17K)

>PC port of Bombergirl
You just made me very happy

Same here, I actually don't mind the genre shift, as the top down sections in Contra 3 were my shit as a kid, but this looks inexcusably bad when indie teams are cranking out games like Assault Android Cactus, Ruiner and Nex Machina

That's good, at least. Konami doesn't have the best track record lately of that.
At best, we'll get a moderately fun twin stick shooter out of it.
At worst, a dead franchise will still be dead.

it's probably japan only since it crossplay with the arcade...well, at least we will be able to play the basic characters even if we can't save.
speaking of bombergirl, is the game really that good? it's VERY popular in japan, the game have updates very frequently, and even have some esport competitions. from what i've read it's some weird mix of Bomberman and a moba game.
Like for real, the game is doing 100 times better than Bomberman R.

Attached: 616px-Oren_loctest.jpg (616x600, 76K)

Recently Konami suprisingly had almost no micro transactions.
Bomberman R got nothing and a lot of free dlc, Survive got some but they are almost useless and the game also got plenty of free contents, and PES apparently is better with that than Fifa (but i'm not a sport fag so maybe i'm wrong.).

Is Konami back?

All I can say is that this release has shown me how many other people enjoy the PS2 titles, so you guys are all pretty cool in my book

Attached: Team cool guys.jpg (300x169, 13K)

>PES apparently is better with that than Fifa
Yeah, but EA is the literal devil so comparing someone else with them is not saying much.

Not yet, but they did some alright thing.
Rogue corps is pretty weird, it's like a PS2 game released now. i love PS2 games, but i can understand why it probably won't do a lot of sales (beside the contra fans that like the post nintendo contra games.)

Blazing Chrome looks far more promising.

Note the "Konami Amusment" in the corenr while everything else in this thread has said "Konami Digital Entertainment"

Probably some weird tax law on how Konami is set up keeping that game in Japan.

>mission based
>huge health bar, not even discrete health chunks like HC JP/HCU
>cooldowns
Fucking yikes, arcade style or bust desu

>Is it really that good
It's not as fast as Bomberman can be so if you were hoping for some crazy fast ultra competitive game like that it's not and you'll see it as shit. It's appeal is in the moba elements acting as more of a puzzle where collaboration will allow you to make a lot of ground while you hold opponents off. It's not too crazy but it's a solid game, solid controls and solid and fun mechanics. Rounding that off you have the sexy girls and clothes strip scenes but the actual game itself is pretty damn solid. It may not be as fast as normal Bomberman but its pretty fun and its popularity is well earned and not just from having cute girls.

This. There's literally nothing wrong with making games that look and feel 6th gen if their gameplay is on point and they don't charge $60 (unless there's a ton of content to make up for it).

Attached: 1560174216037.png (317x344, 262K)

Probably that ,Bombergirl is made ...by the pachinko and dance dance revolution staff, and it's strangely good.
But even if we don't have a "konami amusement card", we probably will be able to play the PC version, just with only the 4 basic characters and no save...no Belmont for us sadly.

Attached: waifu.png (935x703, 1.66M)

Cooldown probably is going to get removed since you custom your weapons and upgrade your character.
there's also some classic contra weapons on the field to grab during missions.
Rogue corps is 30 or 40 bucks i believe, it's not a big project and more of a side one like Bomberman R or MGsurvive. (Bomberman R did a lot of good sales thought. )

>the game is doing 100 times better than Bomberman R
I too would rather blow the clothes of a big titty anime girl than a cartoony blob. I REALLY hope the next bomberman game (in 10 years probably) is another 3D adventure game.

No clue how anyone could hate the ps2 titles, they're VERY solid games and the initial lukewarm response was because they were traditional style games in a market that was obsessed with muh bigger and better adventure

I want to FUCK Bombergirl!

Attached: bomberman.png (858x2500, 2.57M)

they are all cute but the less lewd ones are the better

Attached: Grey_art.png (410x710, 289K)

Because they were still hardcore while the PS2 had turned everyone into casuals. This is what killed Konami. Gradius, Contra, Castlevania, Goemon; without difficulty there's nothing left.

>Bomberman R did a lot of good sales though
That's because it had the luxury of being a launch title. It's only competition at the time was fucking 1-2 switch for that game you bought but didn't touch because BOTW.

One of those games I'll remember exists a few years from now and buy on sale

It's a well-documented fact that Switch owners respect old franchises though. I'd play Bomberman if it came out today, though it had charm whereas the new contra has anticharm.

Attached: 1505141542089.jpg (1209x907, 164K)

it's probably because a lot of switch owners played the nintendo contra games, that weren't crazy like those after.and pretty serious.

This shit have no rights to actually look alright youtube.com/watch?v=r3jDbs_xS8s

>customizable guns, abilities, cooldowns, crit rates
I'm so fucking sick of RPG mechanics, video games were a mistake

Attached: ada.jpg (579x329, 18K)

There's crit rate user.
but yeah, a lot of games have unnecessary RPG mechanics.

I don't think it's possible, the man should make the Great Castle Wars game.

game is ugly but i'm not bothered.
PC or PS4?

I'd say PS4.
PC won't have a good online community. and no physical.

Switch

this. rpg mechanics almost never make a game more fun and usually detract from the experience such as damage sponge enemies, luck factor, and grinding.

Trailer gave me Gearbox vibes and not in a good way.

Never
IP selling happens very rarely, unless the company goes bankrupt(which they won't with the third highest revenue year they had recently) don't expect it.
