Alright, it was my first jrpg ever, and I love that it is getting a remake, but can we be honest for a second?? This game is waaaaaay too overrated. The plot isnt anything that amazing compared to other jrpgs, and the visuals wasnt anything revolutionary like most people seem to think. FFVII much like other games was just a massive case of nostalgia and a remake is only happening now because those nostalgia slaves wouldn't shut the fuck up about it.
I think we can all agree that if any Square Soft game deserved this remake treatment it should have been Chrono Trigger. Especially when it most probably wouldnt take like a decade to be finished, nor have this episodic relase bullshit.

But at the time, this visuals WERE revolutionary, that's a fact. Obviously, if you judge them from a modern perspective they don't seem special, but growing up when that game was made, the CGI was mind blowing. I still remember being floored by the motorcycle cutscene.
