I want to buy it but my cat got super sick and had to be put down so she didn’t suffer. The vet bill ate my money so it’ll have to wait.
Well, doing a Sin of Mana run with Duran, Angela and Charlie. Shits hard and I'm just in Jewel Eater boss. I think I messed up the stat allocation with the mages as I fully focuses on their main stat instead of adding Vit in their stat. Everything hits hard and the boss loves to use magic. Is there a weapon and armor list there? I don't think its included on the source.
God fucking DAMNIT i wanted THIS GAME.
I don't especially care about all the others.
How long will i still have to wait for a re-release of this, fuck.
maybe when SE finally finds that source code
It's going for three bucks on PSN if you want to play it on PS3 or Vita.
Are you ok user?
Idk I’ve been posting here all day and I never do that. Probably just trying to stay distracted
It really doesn't need that much work.
Just a bit of combat balancing like adjusting hit-stun and doing something like pre-loading spell animations for the ones you have equipped.
remake looks pretty good from the gameplay video already. really just hoping they add more inter character interaction since it was very sparse in the original.
You're supposed to raise cast speed stat > offensive stat > vit > secondary casting stat for the mages in that order in Sin of Mana. You can swap the first two around if you want to but I usually do it in that order once i get all of my spells for the early game portion.
Duran, Angela, Kevin.
Getting fucked by werewolves.
That Kevin isn’t far and away the best melee character.
>finally finds
good luck with that, the reason the collection's Switch exclusive is because Nintendo were hanging on to the Trials source code all these years. Square has pretty much lost all of their old games.
first ever playthrough. Duran, Angela, Hawkeye
Pretty kino so far. Just met Hawkeye in the jail.
Which stats should I be prioritising? I heard theres a bugged stat that doesnt do anything or something?
>Which stats should I be prioritising? I heard theres a bugged stat that doesnt do anything or something?
DEX does jack shit so just ignore that.
The collection is shit because all it is buggy roms for $40. The lazy bastards didn't even include the manuals. I bought it of course because Secret of Mana is my favorite game and I wanted to able to play it on the go, but this was some serious low effort. I had a lot of fun with FFA because I haven't played it in 25 years but that shitty border you can't change and constantly opening up the out of game menu because I accidentally hit ZL mainly when I was raging at slow talking NPCs was pretty annoying
>buggy roms
no that's just how the games are. the early Mana series were held together with duct tape and preschooler glue
yes I get that they should've fixed them no excuse to sell a buggy product when they've known about them for 20 years
There's an excel spreadsheet normally coming with the patch, for equipment and such. But that early, you are quite limited in options anyway. Also remember that in Hard and above, you lose max HP for finishing a fight with a dead character, which means you will only get it going harder and harder on you if you don't manage your team carefully. Demon statues are put in your inventory to cure part of that penalty after certain bosses, but it will never negate the effect entirely
I'm playing through Secret of Mana for the first time and i sort of hate it? I don't get why people like it so much.
So far all I've done is loads of backtracking and the combat feels like absolute shit. What am I missing?
I guess I should take note of that. Its still early game for me so I still got my chance until the first class change.
>Also remember that in Hard and above, you lose max HP for finishing a fight with a dead character, which means you will only get it going harder and harder on you if you don't manage your team carefully.
Regarding the penalty, is there a way to completely remove them. Its almost like Dark Souls 2 if thats the case. Doesn't really help that Angel's Grail is 10x more expensive than the original. I'm not getting any one of them in the item seeds either.
None, that's in fact the point as very late game, there's a weapon that gains high boost if you never died once with a character as a reward. At best you can remove the effect of all death - 1
This. I'd fucking buy the console it releases to immediately if it ever comes out.
Been there as well. We're always here if you need us.
Woah, no casualty run gets harder in early game then, and the weapon makes me remind of an Yggdra Union No Casualty reward. How do I need to deal with stats? Go all the way until it caps out or distribute it evenly, regardless if I capped out or not? I messed up Angela and Charlie here by maximizing their primary stats Int and Pie respectively then reversing it afterwards. Got to ask it now, just to make sure I don't mess it up further.
Not trials but I'm playing through Secret of Mana for the first time and this game is fucking amazing. Absolute proof that story doesn't matter in games if gameplay/art/music are all on point. Looking forward to starting 3 after I finish
>What am I missing?
Memories, user. Memories of you and your father/mother/sister/brother/friend/aunt/uncle/dog playing the game with you.
We are having completely opposite experiences. The combat is simple but enjoyable for me, and I like the loop of dungeon -> boss -> back to town to upgrade weapons
>What am I missing?
good taste
ok, i can't take this anymore
this fucking corridor in the witch's castle is driving me nuts, of all the stun locks i have seen so far in this game this is be far the worse of them all
if the 2 wolves manage to put you down, it's game over, because the corridor is so thin there's literally no escape for you
you could try to switch character and try to escape them, but again, the corridor is thin and they can just block your path.
what i want to do is go to the previous room to grind for a while, but then when i enter this fucking room i get stun locked by the wolves, die, and basically lose hours of your time, because now you have to grind again.
i don't want to hate this game, i truly don't want to, but when the game throws you this type of shit it's hard to feel sympathy for the game
Playing Dervish Wanderer Bishop in Sin of Mana. Getting raped by Lugar
You NEED to use the spreadshets for equipment, my dude. The modder could not add the info about the new stuff in the game itself, so the documents are 100% required. By the way, check what each final class weapon do, they're really cool effects and will change how you'll want to plan your build.
>if the 2 wolves manage to put you down, it's game over
So attack them first, you can lock them down too
>but then when i enter this fucking room i get stun locked by the wolves, die, and basically lose hours of your time
Use save states if you are that bad. Man, you are going to have so much fun with the next boss
>you are going to have so much fun with the next boss
you mean the spiky tiger ? I don't actually now if you are supposed to kill him before he does his fire cast spell
You're not going to kill him before he gets spells off. Gotta grind up a few levels and stock up on herbs and candy
Yep, I got a look. I don't know if Brave Blade is good exactly, as I don't know how Turn Undead works.
I plan for my party to turn into Paladin, Arch Mage and Necromancer in the end. I'm not sure how long this will go, maybe until Black Rabbite or not.
I'd say it all depends on your strategy. Mine has been to stock up on enough defense and, especially, magic defense, and it seemed to work for a time, but later on, you need actual strategy when your option opens, and stats are less of a matter compared to equipment. Do keep one character able to deal some good damage, and make sure everyone has at least survival in mind and you should be good. Pie is I think a good stat for everyone just because it pretty much protects you from wipe from auto hit.
Note that your choice later will depend on class change. My Angela for instance is all about quantity and not quality, to instant cast spells on the field to prevent magic snipe from random spellcasters, Carlie is there for debuffing and Riezs is the physical attacker focusing on spamming the first rank special and tanking with HP drain weapon and high dodge than raw defense. But what works for me might not necessarily for you, so I'd say experiment.
In fact... when you reach the mole plains, there's a screen with high level enemies out of range to hit you, use them to get maybe 6-7 level ups and test out stat distribution on local enemies, before reloading a previous save and test something else. You might find your balance there
Turn Undead is like Death Spell but for zombies. Death Spell, afaik, deals 999 damage if the target has lwoer level than you.
Went with an all girls team this time, not sure which classes I'm going for yet. Haven't been playing too much and just got sylphid, but I'm in no rush since I've already played this game dozens of times.

Thats actually my plan except Duran is my main instead of Riesz. I'll try to defeat that Jewel Eater first, I still got my chance until the first class change, since I think the previous class cap will become my new stat after class change.
I see. Turn Undead turning non elemental makes it non resistant or be absorbed by some enemies via Brave Blade then, I rarely use it during Vanilla SD3 runs before so I asked about this.
Indeed, you get the stats of your max previous class. What's to come is not too hard until Forcena. Then you'll meet Wizard types...
Also be wary of one thing about Turn Undead. Level cap for you is 100, but 120 or so for enemies, so that won't work as well in the end game
