It feels good knowing CDPR's Cyberpunk 2077 will expose Deus Ex HR and MD for the garbage that they are and for not being true cyberpunk works. God, that piss filter, you people thought that looked cyberpunk? LMAO

Hot damn.

Attached: TXGGmYo.jpg (3840x2160, 3.05M)

Because the filter is the only thing that defines something as being or not being cyberpunk. OK.

>god don't you realize cyberpunk isn't an aesthetic
>this overly colorful fortnite rendition is real cyberpunk because of its aesthetics

>game is great
Yea Forums: Man this game is great
>game is NEW
>game is POPULAR
>game is NOT FURFAGBAIT
Yea Forums: LMAO ZOOMER TRASH LE REBBIT RUBBISH

Like clockwork.

It makes the game look like ass and ruins the aesthetic. There's no PUNK in Deus Ex's cyberpunk.

Yeah too bad 2077 is a deus ex clone

What do you mean there's no punk you fucking retard? You spend the majority of the game fighting fucking augmented black gangs and chink triads.

It is its own aesthetic meant to fit the renaissance theme the game was going for. If you don't like it use reshade.

2077 is what deus ex should have been.

Or you know 2077 could have been that thing that we were told about upon announcement

>claiming a game they haven't played is better than one they... probably also haven't played

a GTA kids game that doesn't really get cyberpunk? damn

Yeah, fighting them, but your character is basically a goddamn cop. There is nothing punk about Jensen. He's a generic boring protagonist with some gravely voice to make him seem badass to kids.

It's the only modern game that actually gets cyberpunk. What the fuck are you on about? Thirsty for (you)s? Here, have one.

Cyberpunk isn't a fucking renaissance. It's dark, it's gritty, it's vibrant, it's PUNK. CDPR gets that.

GTA is far closer to cyberpunk than whatever Deus Ex ended up being.

The problem with Human Revolution is its use of cheap cyberpunk cliches instead of the more grounded approach the original Deus Ex used where people had physical books and flew helicopters and shit.

You guys forgot about the whole "pick a class" thing huh?

Human Revolution was the renaissance of biotechnology that would eventually lead into the gritty dark future of the first game. Maybe it's proto-cyberpunk, but at least it's original and not just Blade Runner 2077.

You still have it in cyberpunk 2077. It's dependent on the choices you make. Meanwhile as Jensen your only choices boil down to "kill this guard" and "do not kill this guard".

hilariously cyberpunk 2077 is neither dark or gritty unless you're 12 years old. and I've never played deus ex but GTA is not close to being cyberpunk so I'd say you're probably wrong on that as well

Cyberpunk 2077 isn't Blade Runner, it's rock and roll cyberpunk. Deus Ex is boring and bland as fuck just like the character you're forced to play as. No character creator, just stuck as boredom incarnate aka Adam "I sound like I smoke 500 cigarettes a day" Jensen.

>Cyberpunk isn't a fucking renaissance. It's dark, it's gritty, it's vibrant, it's PUNK.
Back to the Future 2 is cyberpunk and a large portion of the film takes place in broad daylight. With lots of bright colours.

>Deus Ex is boring and bland as fuck just like the character you're forced to play as. No character creator, just stuck as boredom incarnate aka Adam "I sound like I smoke 500 cigarettes a day" Jensen.
Where did all these underage gamers who never played Dues Ex/Invisible War come from?

You were saying?

ITT people pretending to know what cyberpunk is as if they didn't just hear the word in 2013 when CDPR revealed the game, and then making up definitions to fit the trailers into that "genre."

here come the ubisoft employees

The original Deus Ex looked dark and gritty, Invisible War sucks so who cares. HR and MD are fucking trash and a disgrace to cyberpunk.

>Jensen
>hired gun working outside the law for a billionaire member of the Illuminati
>fights hundreds of cops along the way
>basically a cop
You have no idea what cyberpunk is and think it's just neon chink signs and rain, don't you?

This thread is moronic.

Attached: 1361354545148.jpg (600x480, 102K)

I wish CP2070 would have an ounce of the nu-Deus Ex’s atmosphere.

except it doesn't. cyberpunk 2077 is for people who think cyberpunk = pink mohawks, leather jackets + bionic arms. the same people who were crying about anyone who criticized the sun as being too focused on aesthetics are the ones who lapped up 2077 purely based on misguided aesthetics

c77 is a colorful GTA game heavily focused on aesthetics. but thats all it really needs to be to be. people are pretty happy with a futuristic game where they can customize their character into looking cool and being able to do essentially do what they want in an open world. c77 will be perfect for that

>Invisible War sucks
No it doesn't.

Idk user, I've learned a lot so far.

For instance Neuromancer isn't cyberpunk even though it invented the genre because there are no classes. Really insightful shit.

I'm done ruining people's excitement for this game. have fun, I'll still play it and probably have fun too. I was just hoping for more

Mike Pondsmith himself said GTA 3 was essentially a cyberpunk game without the cyber.

Claude Speed>>>>>>>>>>>Jensen

Just because a work is the "first" in a given genre (sub-genre, actually) doesn't mean it is the mold by which all other things in that genre are made. It evolved over time, is still evolving.

It's universally accepted among deus ex true fans, that invisible war is literal rancid fucking garbage

Welcome to vice city

Vice City was kinda cyberpunkish, it had that 80s vibe to it.

You really, REALLY don't understand cyberpunk if you think 2077 is all about aesthetics. Don't reply to me again, philistine.

Muh "true fans".

Maybe in the apocalypse

This. Deus Ex has always been shit and I'm glad there's a proper cyberpunk experience coming soon.

At least Hengsha did the cyberpunk megacity right, unlike Night City.

Agreed.

Attached: 1536955194716.jpg (1280x1440, 1.07M)

Anyone else play HR Directors Cut, and feel like the missing piss filter makes the game look more bland?

Oh, fuck off you contrarian cunt.

How? You can't even travel through most of it, in Cyberpunk 20077 the entire city is yours to traverse.

How is what I said contrarian at all. Genres are not made by a single work and then all compared to that work, they are developed to fit a variety of works and evolve to encompass a consistent vision or theme(s). By your logic Mass Effect isn't sci-fi because it's nothing like Frankenstein... you know, the first sci-fi novel.

I'm talking just the concept, no doubt Cyberpunk will be better from gameplay standpoint. The platform makes it perpetually dark even at daytime, and only rich people who get to live above it see the sun most of the time.
Night city is just a city, doesn't look futuristic enough.

Attached: file.png (736x368, 434K)

>Just because something is the mold for something doesn't mean it's the mold for something.

That's how you're a contrarian cunt.

Then please, compare some modern sci-fi to Frankenstein for me.

Actual fucking retard. I'm surprised you can read at all.

Not him, but Sci-fi is a genre of science/fiction. Cyberpunk is a sub-genre. Stating that sub-genre isn't a mold for all media made within that sub-genre is just poorly thought out. Not all sci-fi has to fall within the same rules, but sub-genre's of sci-fi definitely have to conform in order to fit that sub-genre..

>Blade runner is definitely not cyberpunk, the main character is a cop!
This is the audience that is criticizing games on whether or not they are "true cyberpunk". These low intelligence teenagers who never read the literature, played the RPG, saw the film's, read the comics - these are the retards who are so vocal about what "real cyberpunk" is. Just remember that when you read their worthless opinions.

it doesn't need to be dark to be cyberpunk

>want to shitpost about an upcoming title
>pose as retarded fan of said title and shitpost commonly liked game
>the backblow will taint the upcoming game
Advanced shitposting.

Rocky Horror Picture Show - while meant for laugh value - is a good example of modern sci-fi that is comparable to frakenstein. Shit, Prometheus, the BASIS for Frankenstein, was referenced heavily in the films "Prometheus" and "Alien Covenant", which were shitty sequels to Alien that chronicled the making of the titular creature via a Victor Frankenstein-esque amalgamation that lead to absolute terror and a loss of control by said monster's creator.

I mean, there are modern examples of Frankenstein in a LOT of Sci-fi.

Not but it helps aesthetically and thematically.
Also I just wanted a bit more exciting city. Bit more futuristic. Night city just looks like manhattan or whatever just with LED billboards everywhere.

>10 year old game that was in development for less than 3 years
>next gen game in development for around 4 years
no shit, op

Techincally, it's still cyberpunk no matter what arthouse fags want to argue. The set it up as such by introducing Deckard as an ex-cop disillusioned by the establishment. That's about as cyberpunk as it gets.

HRs gold and black artstyle is supposed to represent the golden age of human advancements replicating renaissance paintings which used alot of the "piss filters' in their artworks. MD barely had it all because the golden age ended. You can still find it in places though like kollers workshop.

>proper artfag explains the meaning behind the pissfilter
>this post will go unnoticed by anons who are too busy parotting their psych professors, or shit they learned in a course about Kubrick.

deus ex hr isn't commonly liked, neither is mankind divided, no one even cares about them anymore. only the original deus ex is loved

I, too, am a fan of historical revisionism.

>Yea Forums full of tryhard contrarians
>reddit full of whimpering fanboys
>resetera are offended by everything
There is no good place to talk about this game.

Attached: 1522874536265.jpg (641x530, 25K)

>HR isn't commonly liked
So when did you start coming to Yea Forums, around gamergate or the election? Because Yea Forums absolutely lost its shit and fell in love with HR when the game leaked.

I never see the game mentioned again, yet the original always comes up. mankind divided was a commercial failure and panned by critics and by Yea Forums.

Give it up old man. Deus Ex is done for. The future is Cyberpunk 2077.

I personally prefer game worlds similar to HR and MD, I feel like smaller open game worlds with a bit of verticality and more deliberate design is better than large sandbox-esque mostly empty or repetitive trash.

Prime Yea Forums when everyone was rightfully shitting on HR before release, then the leak hit and it was absolute kino. Fun time.

>It's the only modern game that actually gets cyberpunk.
no it isn't, just 'cause you don't actually play videogames and consume them with general media as casuals doesn't mean they don't exist.

So you've listened to the fanbase instead of trying the game yourself, fucking sheep

This is the thing that really scares me.

Shills think the game is going to have insane verticality and lots of moments that make it feel alive since it's a massive towering city, but I'm 99% sure it's just going to be an endless sea of uninteractable shit and NPCs with """"""""point of interest""""""" biker gang hideouts on the street and on the rooftops.

Attached: Deus Ex_ Mankind Divided™_20161101173335.jpg (1920x1080, 349K)

Thanks for putting into words what I've been feeling about a lot of games. I'd rather have a city block where every room is explorable, than a whole city of locked doors and empty rooms.

Remember Me is the better cyberpunk game compared to deus ex hr and md.

yeah it's very hard to make a huge sandbox game that is vibrant and filled with non repetitive trash, I hear rdr2 does that correctly but I didn't play that desu.

if they do manage to do that in cyberpunk 2077, then I'd be impressed by that alone desu.

The Witcher 3 was their biggest game and it barely had any actual interaction with the so called open world. I doubt Cyberpunk 2077 will be any better.
Even the multiple choice stuff is just different dialogue but the end result is clearly always the same.

RDR2 handled it incredibly well with their stranger encounter system, but even though they did it the best that its ever been done, by the end of the game you've already burned through all the unique one off encounters, and only keep getting the same repeatable horse thieves and swamp cult murders encounters over and over again.

And RDR2 had a $600m dollar budget with devs working 100 hour work weeks for 7 years. I really doubt 2077 is going to be able to match it.

I'm fully expecting it to just be like Spiderman.

Well I mean, they aren't cyberpunk and never were. There's nothing punk about them. It's a utipoian future that, who fucking guessed it - is actually a dystopia ruled by the Illuminati. HR was at least a neat and fun game to play and explore, about a conspiracy that smalls relatively small scale and just builds and builds from there, constantly expanding in scope the more you discover until the entire world is involved.

IW is better than HR and MD

>this game isn't cyberpunk
>continues to describe the game by saying all the classic cyberpunk themes it has
????

CYBERCUNNY 2077

Attached: n3zj10iznbf21.png (768x768, 730K)

HR and MD are cybernoir like Blade Runner.
The original is cyberconspiracy
Cyberpunk is cyberpunk

>cdpr shilling has begun

Deus Ex is thousand times the game cyberpunk will ever be.

God, this nitpicky genre bullshit reminds me of when I was a metalhead. Autistic nerds always having to categorise and correct each other.

Pick a better game to talk about.

Seconded.
Plus Mankind Divided is so fucking boring goddamn.

Its comfy as fuck, also some levels are glorious. The soundtrack is amazing.

No, it isn't.

>comfy

Cyberpunk isn't supposed to be comfy. You're supposed to be paranoid, afraid of betrayal and attacks at every turn. Did you fall for those "le sitting on my balcony/rooftop at night smoking in the rain" memes? Because that isn't cyberpunk.

Just talk about the game, bait threads get free bumps

it's based on cyberpunk 2020 super retard

Attached: Book_cover_rockerboy.jpg (768x1024, 375K)

>MD
>not dealing with paranoia and conspiracies

Half the retards who played through the game even missed the nuances of its story. Same retards who went from point a to b without exploring MD incredibly detailed environments. The soundtrack is comfy and amazing though, trance inducing at times too.

That's fucking gay as shit

wtf

Attached: trannies confirmed.jpg (214x414, 33K)

>REEEEEEEE

Yeah, and? Gender is malleable in cyberpunk. I thought deus ex had a tranny too, that black girl that looked like rihanna with cyber legs.

Attached: _.png (233x227, 87K)

kek you didn't reply to this one because you know he's right, what a fucking fag piece of shit you are.
