Also, thought I'd show this shit that I posted on /vg/ ages ago. I made a repro copy of re-translated Castlevania 3 with the extra sound chip for enhanced music by using a donor cart from a different Konami game that I got for cheap on eBay. I had to put the sound chip on the back of the PCB to make it fit inside an NES cart but it all worked out.

I was really impressed with the music for Curse of the Moon because it sounded just like the expanded audio from Japanese Castlevania 3.

I expected some overlevel/overequip shenanigans due to it being an official stream to show off stuff, but turns out you just literally lied.

Plays like a true successor to the Igavania games, uses a lot of the good ideas and mechanics from multiple entries (mostly SotN, Aria, and especially Ecclesia) with a ton of throwbacks to Castlevania like an 8-Bit level ala CV1 and a Co-Op level like Portrait of Ruin.

Fuckload of gameplay options, most weapons have multiple hidden attacks and abilities, shards add new abilities and attacks for you and theres so many and they're so varied that you will definitely not find all of them on your first playthrough

Main complaints though:
-Normal and Hard mode are too easy if you play Metroidvanias
-Bosses are hit or miss, most of the early ones are easy
-Easily exploitable, found a weapon combo early on that attacked 7 times each swing (Welcome Home + Spiral Sword)
