That said, shoehorned time travel plots suck 99% of the time so I lost a lot of hope for fates being good when they showcased the time skip. Its like they're trying to cram two games into one, but it'll probably just be a mess of two half-games blended together into one shitty game.

I was always optimistic of the game since only retards bought into the whole "durr Persona" shit. I'm roughly in the same space with the game as I was before - I hate the self-insert garbage just as much as I always have, the school thing screams masturbation to me, I hate unlimited class changing which just feels lazy, really wish they'd go back to limited class changes where one character can only have certain classes. The maps look fine, and the game as a whole is looking WAAAAAAY less fucking lonely anime otaku pandering than Fates was, which is why I completely skipped that entire game.

The time skip gives me hope for the game, if it means we'll actually fucking leave the dumb school at some point and get thrown into an insane trial-by-fire Conquest-level map design ULTRA difficult second half of the game, but who knows. More likely you'll be able to trivialize the entire game just by being mildly competent during the school segments.

Sorry for no proof, but is a well known fact that after the whole fiasco between Fates, Fatal Frame, Tokyo Mirage Sessions and their overabuse of memes in games like Triforce Heroes, Nintendo got so pissed at NoA and Treehouse that now they're forced to constantly report on the japanese devs for anything regarding the localization of the games. I kind of disagree. The story was simple with the time traveling children implemented in a smart way, nothing wrong about it, but it felt like they forgot about the main plot during the second act of the game, the Walhart invasion which came nowhere other than just a mention afterwards about him also wanting to use the Fire Emblem to stop Grima, and made the rest of the game feel very rushed and cheap.
