Looks like another in the line of Vampyre and Call of Cthulhu Official Game.

I've been a bit out of the loop. Is this going to be like the call of chtulu game that just released a few months ago? Or entirely different? Gameplay/System wise.

Originally they were the same game but a publisher dev disagreement caused a splitting up. The people agreeing with the publisher stayed and made that Call game. The devs that disagreed with the publisher left and made this.

What was wrong with vampyr? Yeah the ending was retarded but the game was solid considering the budget.

If you actually played CoC the video game and knew anything about how this game plays, you wouldn't be comparing it at all to CoC.

It's a shame because I like Frogwares but that's what happens when you make a deal with the devil.

Oh, so that explains why CoC pretended so hard to be some kind of an open-ended RPG while being completely linear and on rails the whole way through.

To say they were the same game is not totally accurate, it is that Sinking City was supposed be a CoC branded game but something fell through before very long in the dev. Sinking City was never going to be what CoC The Video Game was supposed to be.

Maybe. Not sure what the disagreement was over. But the devs said this one is the game they wanted to make.

i get mixed messages about the game. on one hand the devs have talked about how there's gonna be very little hand-holding and it'll require detective work on the player's part. on the other hand, it seems to be advertised with in mind.
