I've had this in my library for a while now, its my first TW game, i gave it a try when it first came out but never really dug into it. Picked it back here recently and I'm having a good time, but I want to get better at the micro/camera/unit controls to play on the fly without pausing so much. I understand the mechanics and know what I should be doing in a battle but I have a hard time keeping up with the pace and end up just losing track of everything once all the units break off into their fights, even with groups assigned. Any tips to get better at this?
Also what are some good army builds/unit selections/magic choices, and what are things I should avoid that aren't so obvious?
You need the other like 200$ in dlc to make it good at this point. But go dwarves the units are good enough to hold your hand
Aiden Barnes
Also I should add, this is just for custom battles/multiplayer. I don't really care for the grand campaign stuff.
Dominic Gonzalez
its really bare fucking bones if you dont have any of the dlc.
Cooper Anderson
Lmao then you wasted money because thats like 80% of the game.if you dont have steel faith overhaul avoid magic that doesnt provide buffs. Other than that play more to increase in skill
Hunter Edwards
I've been using chaos mostly since they seem fairly simple. Mostly trying to tie up front lines with cheap units, flank with forsaken, some fast stuff for back line archers/war machine stuff, and spirit leech or whatever it's called on their lord repeatedly
Jacob Thomas
Armies without archers do not fair well in battles because you dont get the balance of another unit of fodder to support your real units like in campaign
Jordan Ramirez
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the DLC races get added to the world anyway, even if you don't have them? I don't own wood elves and I see them running around on the campaign.
Jeremiah Hughes
Another army of fodder* Dwarves with a good mix of ironbreakers and archers/crossbow men will literally win any point battle
Grayson Stewart
yeah thats right
Luis James
>I don't really care for the grand campaign stuff You've completely missed the point of the game, thats 95% of the game.
Gabriel Moore
They do but not being able to play them defeats the point of them being in the game
Christopher Wood
>if you dont have steel faith overhaul avoid magic that doesnt provide buffs u wot
Levi Allen
have range units up front have cavalry to flank your enemies have your range shoot the units when enemy soldiers get close, pull you range units back and charge with your melee units while both are fighting, have your cavalry charged then from behind (if they are shock, pull them off and have them charge in again) shoot down or chase down any solder whos running away if your lord is a melee fighter, have him fight the other lord if not, have him stay back to give the troops moral
thats how you win 90% of all battles. remember to bring some spear units to kill off the enemies calvery if they have any or have them support the other melee units.
Joseph King
What about fighting them user? I don't want to play wood elves but I do want to genocide them.
Magic in the base game is dogshit and doesnt do anywhere close to enough damage to make it viable. The only things worth wasting skill points and magic on are the stupid good aoe buffs
Ryan Lewis
That's not true at all. Even basic spells like Windblast tear through chaff like nothing.
Jordan Gutierrez
>I want to play a total war game for the multiplayer A bold choice
>wasting valuable magic on meatshield units Found the shitter. Buffing your whole line is more valuable than the 20 kills you got and the 8 mana you wasted
Parker Bennett
not him but are bretonnia a full faction without the dlc or are they like when the game was first released?
Lincoln Parker
Yeah they are dogshit bad though, worse empire in every aspect because they were an afterthought to shut the community up
Elijah Allen
So at least thats an accurate adaptation of the tabletop.
Colton Carter
i think they are a real faction.
Austin Foster
>20 kills Cone and Vortex spells murder shit in SP, while in MP you've got Fireball, Miasma and the ever present Lore of Death. It's entirely dependent on the factions you play and which you're facing.
David Miller
They are a real faction.
Liam Kelly
did CA ever add in any options for them to crusade against the TWW2 factions
Julian Allen
I love dabbing on people who defend stocks shit balance
Daniel Green
they are a part of mortal empire so you can. also if you use a faction unlocker you can pick some crusaders in the tomb king lands
