Other than that, Ace Combat is piss easy for the most part, I've played pretty much all of them and I really enjoy them, but they aren't hard. Maybe don't forget your Special Weapons exist if you need them.

I'm using expert controls but I'm obviously doing something retarded. Just watched a YouTube video and the guys was locking on and destroying drones left and right with missiles. How the fuck do I do that? Using f14 with LAAM. Still sucking like a fag. Haven't done much upgrading and only own 2/3 jets.

This was the first Ace Combat game I've ever owned and I played on standard with "expert controls" and I felt the game was slightly short and easy.

first thing first make sure to play in third person. Also if you hold the target switch button the camera follows the enemy your locked onto. This makes the game much easier

There are a couple missions that can throw you for a loop in 7 due to their gimmicks, but other than that I think people just have some issues with spatial awareness and do stuff like fly in circles to try to catch people. You have a full range of motion to work with and the AI really isn't especially good, so the games aren't hard when you just get told to fly around and blow stuff up.

No, locking onto enemies requires closing the distance (unless you're using long range SPWs) and placing the enemy in front of your nose.

Not him but I played on PC and had no issues, even emulated Zero and 5 and played with mouse and keyboard. I can't imagine using a controller for any videogame since those sticks are garbage for everything. Pitching and rolling with a mouse makes the game easy mode even with gun only. Consoletards should just disapear and stop ruining everything, you're shit at games, controllers are absolute dumpster fire of an input method and outdated and the hardware inside the consoles doesn't give developers any freedom so we're stuck with downgrades, broken games and ports and exclusives that will come to PC anyway since consoles die out every couple of years. Just buy a PC, you can play older AC titles on emulators and enjoy games with good performance, visuals and you can actually fucking aim.
