Nice try Todd

*You cannot be the Jarl of any hold.

wow its almost like you need to go through a questline and experience econtent in order to progress in the story

Worse than Morrowind, better than Oblivion.

Fuck off retarded n'wah

vanilla mechanics would not support it, would be rally dumb, your not supposed to be a ruler, you are an adventurer

>not modding NPC's "essentiality" away
>not playing with mods
>implying you can't be thane in every hold
yes you can b&

Morrowind has aged like milk, WoW was also the superior ealry 2000's RPG release

all vidoe games are trash technically

I love the flexibility when it comes to combat, with dual wielding and mixing of weapons and magic, and the sprinting/running.

Previous entries might have been superior in almost every way, but running around in cyrodiil with a dagger in one hand like a deranged lunatic out with a knife looking for steak felt fucking stupid.
Waved the fucking weapons like they were disposable plastic utensils. And the fucking movement; you were always "running" in walking-speed and if you wanted to sprint TOUGH FUCKING LUCK
because Shift of all buttons made you walk at snail speed. Why, fucking why??! Who thought that was a good idea? Left running permanently on while doing my thing, and Athletics passively went
up. Awful.

This looked like sam fisher holding a pistol at first

I just want to say that i fucking hate morrowind.
I just don't understand why people like it so much.

It's absolute unfun, shit combat, HORRIBLE enemy variety, enemies that lock on from a mile away (cliffracers anyone?)
It's just a giant fucking wasteland filled with fucking rocks and hills, god why is this game so ugly.
Maybe except Vivec, that city is pretty darn cool

The NPCs are soulless abominations, they LITERALLY DO NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. they have no "daily activites", and that bothers me so fucking much.
The same NPC could be standing in the same goddamn place for the entire day, and DO NOTHING.
Same with the npcs that walk outside, they are just fucking walking in circles, no interaction between them or shit like that.

Let's talk about the city Vivec, it's a cool city, I'll admit that, but again it's ruined by the godawful npcs, why couldn't they add npcs outside, maybe the npcs could have their market stand, maybe we could see tons of npcs roaming, talking to each others or buying stuff at the stands, maybe we could witness merchants with special stilttraders roaming around the water areas, or with boats....

>inb4 zoomer
Gothic 1 and Gothic 2 NOTR are and will always be 100 times better than Morrowind, FACT.

World is cool. I don't care about combat at all, except perhaps magic but that's only because of spellcrafting.

in the older games you could cast spells while having a bow, a 2 handed weapon or a sword and shield out

skyrim actively disallows you from doing this, giving the player less choice, let's not even go into all the other shit they cut

WoW was a lot closer to Oblivion's release than to Morrowind. I had already played the fuck out of it before beta. Really a mid-2000s game.

This, this, and this.

only oblivion would allow you to do that. and in morrowind you had to use both hands to cast spells.
skyrim if anything allows you more choice by allowing the player to dual wield any spell and one handed weapon or any combination of them

I like it just because its a casual experience. if i want to play arcana or morrowind i have to focus a bit more. it aint a great game, but its a relaxing romp.

its as wide as an ocean, but as deep as a puddle, but nontheless its a puddle i like to splash around in.

The world.
It's fun to just roam around Skyrim, gathering alchemy materials, shooting some deer, mining some ore, maybe you'll stumble upon a dungeon / dragon priest / daedric prince quest.

Then you return to the city and do some smithing / alchemy / enchanting, or just selling stuff or picking up some quests.

It's just a fun fantasy world that you can immerse yourself in, even if the NPC's have no personality and the story is garbage.

No other game does as good of a job with just making you feel like you've been transported into a fantasy sandbox.

this. its a nice casual sandbox. Witcher 3 is pretty mutch in all regards a better game, but i dont replay it much at all. I still find myself time to time getting into skyrim, despite mods. Also while the active story is poopoo garbage, its at least part of a wider well developed world so its easy to rp in. I cant really think of any other game with hundreds of readable books (i know much came from other elder scrolls, but it stilladds to the world). Has a unique mix of bare bones and implied (if not executed) depth.

He meant being a Jarl of a hold; instead of electing some insufferable bitch or faggot to lead. Also, modding essential status out can cause many severe game issues due to how tied in some of them are.
