Am I the only one who stopped buying games on steam after getting a switch? It just seems like you're getting so much more value for your money when you can play it in portable mode and on a tv, and almost every indie game on steam is also on switch now. I honestly don't even mind waiting a little while for a switch port because the added value of portable mode really is that good. I literally haven't bought a new game on steam since 2017 because there's no point.

yea

I stopped using Steam cause I don't want to give Valve money.

When I play a game I just buy it for console and when it's something like an FPS where PC is the best way to go, I have GOG.

For indies I always buy them on switch, even before that I got them for vita. If they're not moddable those games just fit handhelds better

they're too expensive and i'm scared nintendo will announce a new console by the time i buy one because this happened when i bought into a WiiU

>playing indie games
kill yourself

The Switch is actually selling so they probably won't need to replace it until 2022 at the earliest. That being said I'd wait to see what a potential hardware revision looks like before taking the plunge.

no, the prices are usually way worse on switch and you likely won't be able to play them on nintendo's next console.

>buying Switch games

From what I've read, the Switch uses the tegra x1 chip instead of the x2 so maybe that's a potential improvement? I also think they might make a version with improved controllers, maybe make them unremovable?

Just resell the switch when the new ones come out since there will be a lot of games out for the switch by that time.

ALL I FUCKING WANT IS A MINI VERSION OF THE FUCKING THING AND FOR IT TO BE HACKABLE ON ALL MODELS AND NINTENDO STOPS GIVING A SHIT SO IT CAN REPLACE THE VITA HAS HANDHELD EMULATION KING

Yeah but the WiiU versions are identical and cheaper. As a WiiU owner, I have no reason to own a switch except for fucking.. Mario.

Same for me

as*
fuck

>Vita
>Handheld king
Only pedophiles own a vita. There's no reason to own one unless you're a pedo.

i meant handheld king in emulation, shut the fuck up nigger.

>ITS PORTABLE!!!!!
>plays exclusively in his own house

why

Depends on the game but yeah.
I had fun with Cat quest and Knights of Pen and Paper

>goes out in the sun
>screen glare (if you increase the brightness, your battery runs out faster)
>higher percentage of dying (especially in the USA)

I play on all my flights and hotels I stay at for my weekly business trips.

Post essential Nintendo Switch accessories

fuck off pedo

>post unessential chink shit

stupid fucking faggot lol

Exactly this. If a multiplat runs on Switch just as good as on any other platform, there's no reason not to get it on Switch.

I buy games on Switch and then I often double dip on Steam when it gets cheap enough. I like having options.

China is the future, America is finished.

emulators and a D-pad brings Switch from an 8/10 to a 10/10.

What option does having it on steam give you that you don't already have on the switch?

lol

nah Im even buying games on Switch that I already owned on Steam, theres something so comfy about owning this mix of games in this small console - AAA, indies, retro games all in one. pretty sure Ill look back on the switch like I do to the SNES

itscomfyasfuck

Yeah I am real scared of a country that caused a famine because it declared sparrows to be capitalist saboteurs.

I hope the switch 2 has some processing power built into the dock, so it can actually be more powerful when you hook it up

The X2 is a marginal improvement over the X1, the gap is smaller than 3DS to n3DS.

Laptops and tablets were already portable?

I have cuphead on my laptop

Opposite for me. I don't always carry around my switch but I always have my laptop which has steam on it.

Laptops aren't handheld. Tablets are but they don't have buttons so you can't play games on them.

I can play it on any computer I have, which is nice.

Why would anyone have more than 1 computer though?

Switch isn't much of a handheld

>Do I think it’d be more fun and or comfy to play undocked/anywhere I want?

Switch

>Is it absurdly cheap (for its pay grade?)

Steam

That’s how I do it

I did the same but I also hacked the switch and just pirate everything nowadays

Looks like a Gashat

I’ve always thought playing 99% of indies was weird on console or PC. Love having them on handheld and if anything Switch has talked me into checking some things like Cuphead out on my TV.

what d-pad do you use? I've only seen like 2 and I wasn't sure if they were any good

You should support independent game developers user.

nah just nah man

The Switch is the new Vita, perfect for 2D indie games. Just wish it had a proper Dpad option. Someone please make a left joycon that only has a Dpad and move it to where the analog stick used to be. Also don't make it a funny shape so cases that fit the stock joycon wont fit on it like the Hori Dpad joycon.

I don't see how a Switch can be anything more than a supplement for a gaming PC

That's all consoles user

where did you get that left joycon with the D-pad?

Cringe.

Etsy/Ebay sells shells you can put on your current joycon. They work well but i'd still rather the dpad be higher on the joycon

Are you autistic? Laptop desktop work laptop etc.

Why is this thing along with its peripherals so god damn expensive?

$300 isn't really that expensive for a console. Controllers are expensive because they're full of under utilized tech

It's kind of expensive for what it offers. Sure it's a unique experience but where every non first party in house made game is a mess to run because of how underpowered the console is.

each joycon basically needs everything that a regular controller would have only one of, so that basically doubles the price of the controllers right off the bat

The first party games alone are worth the price of the console.

how??? I've got all of them and they're nothing really to write home about. I didn't even make it that far into odyssey because it doesn't feel any special after having played the same shit over a decade ago

Nah, I buy on both Steam and Switch. Some games are available on PC but not on Switch and vice versa.

You don’t lose the game when the Switch becomes obsolete and breaks. Mods and tweaks, faster updates.

if its
-local multiplayer
-doesnt require power
-not online
-easily playable on pad as opposed to kbm/arcade stick

I will buy it on the switch. PC ohterwise.

The big improvement I would want is better battery life. I don't care too much about graphics but it would be nice if the battery lasted longer than like 4 hours when you play something intensive.

That seems even harder than more power. Most of the space is already used for battery

They need to wait for that graphene ball technology.

There are those battery packs that goes behind the switch if you're interested!

I use my PC for when I want the best possible graphical presentation or to mod the shit out of something (eg, the Resident Evil 2 remake). For most everything else, it’s Switch. My PS4 Pro is for console exclusives, and I honestly don’t even know why I own an Xbone X at this point.

How's the pro controller for side scrollers? Specifically the dpad. I'm playing Cuphead with the default controllers and it's hard. I keep smashing the wrong buttons, or two buttons together.

That will take almost 10 years from this point to be cheap enough to use.

Considering Nvidia made a 1650 that's more 30% more powerful than a 1050ti while taking up just as much power. I think rebuilding a 1050ti with a smaller size and more efficient hardware to fit onto mobile chips is possible.

Switch cases look so nice i just want to keep buying them just to look at.
