Without numbers from either company we shall never really know unless the count on WoW drastically hits the 400-600k mark only. As it stands the FFXIV numbers for active characters are not 1:1 but more than likely shows the game happily at the 900k sub count for the time being. The question here though is how long will they retain such numbers? As it stands we could see a repeat of Stormblood where we had a similar high before the release of the expansion only to see around 40-50% of the population disappear for most of the expansion.
