it's more an issue of figuring out what each address does in undocumented hardware like the gpu and spu. If you look at current xbox emulation it's mostly just slow and not rendering correctly. Basically get an original xbox they're dirt cheap and modding them is trivial.

It's not trivial. Many people have tried to make an xbox emulator and given up. It's not because "nobody cares about xbox emulation", it's because it's really, really hard and time consuming. I'm not too aware of the specifics but, from what I've read, nvidia knew what they were doing when they made hardware that wasn't easily reverse engineered. There are emulators for platforms people care a lot less about than the xbox.

Those are the terms you agreed to. If you don't actually agree to them, then don't buy it. Optical drives spin the disc pretty fast. If it's not reasonably well balanced you can ruin the mechanism. They can deal with unbalanced discs to some extent but they do have limits to those tolerances. Worst case scenario the disc will spectacularly shatter inside the drive and maybe take the drive with it.
