I really wanted to like NuDoom but the damage system removing your entire health bar in 2 hits combined with enemies dropping half a bar of heath and ammo when you glory kill them at low health just killed it for me. The game wants you to get up close but that will just get you swarmed and optimal play is just playing like SS backpedaling and holding M1 which doesnt benefit the maps

Mario Odyssey didn't really do a whole lot for me. I was expecting a lot more from it
Rocket League really caught me off guard, I thought it was going to be a silly little indie game that I would get bored of after a few days but it's incredibly addicting and I can't stop playing it.

Breath of the Wild for me. Expected it to be good and was really disappointed. Exploring felt empty and unrewarding.
Conversely I purchased DD for my switch recently and really like it. I’d gotten it for PC before on a Steam Sale and thought it was kind of mid-tier, but I guess that’s because it had to compete with other shit I can play at home. Being able to play it on the train and at work really changes how I feel about a game I guess.
I could understand seeing faces in places where there are none, but what's the biological advantage in seeing illusion asses?
Seeing the ass is not enough, you must be able to sniff an illusion BRAP in order to truly be considered an ass master
