What the the heck is Auto Chess? Why are there three? four? versions of it?

What the the heck is Auto Chess? Why are there three? four? versions of it?

I need someone to explain this normie meme. From what I gather you just pick a bunch of shit then they just duke it out on the board? Why is it popular?

I was like you OP, went to play it like 100 games and investigate about thi and i can tell you this

You get gold and 5 random units each round, you upgrade them buying 3 of the same, and you can get your level up for better chance at better units

Its one of the worst game ever, RNG on top of RNG, position in the board doesnt matter, losing 10-15 rounds doesnt matter, only better units and luck to upgrade matters in this game, normies like it because you dont even get to move your units, it plays itself and you can win by just getting lucky

RTS was too stressful so they made DOTA, DOTA was too stressful so they made Auto Chess.

Google it grandpa

Dota 2 is more stressful than any rts.

I'm going to wait for the underlords open beta. But it looks like character placement, character synergy and items do play a role. But yeah heavy influence of rng on top of all that

Its a Dota 2 custom game. Pretty good one at that as well.

And why there are several versions?

Well people saw how Valve stole DotA and made bank with it, so people are trying to do the same with Auto Chess now.

>normies like it because you can win by just getting lucky
Basically this.

>normie
Kill yourself underage

>Valve stole DotA
To be fair, the just accepted Icefraud proposal.

>every game has to be competetive

>you can win by just getting lucky
but then how are some people pulling off consistent wins

Sounds like the most horrible mobile shit condensed into one shit genre

its zoomers that dont know how to do anything and this fucking stupid

unless ofcourse he's a console player

go watch some cartoons on youtube kid

That user is talking out of his ass, and clearly hasn't actually played it, because he's only half-right

Yeah, it is totally reliant on RNG, but not entirely.

The hero pool is actually a shared hero pool. So, in a single game where it's 8 vs 8, everyone is sort-of picking their heroes from a single pool (but RNG is involved on who gets to pick what and when)

So, if Hunter characte;s are getting picked up by everyone in a game, then the hero pool is getting drained of Hunters - but that also means that building up other class combos gets easier, since hunters won't be diluting the hero pool anymore.

Autochess is all about making the most out of what you're given. If you start a game and go "Ok, this game I'm gonna pick knights" then you're most likely gonna fucking lose early. It's all about building and responding to your opponents and to your RNG. If you're really good at making draft decisions, then you will be winning consistently.

The game is surprisingly deep, and it's addicting once you finally learn how the fuck to play it and win rounds

yea its apparent that hes probably gathered a cursory knowledge of the game watching twitch streams. The fact that he said positioning doesn't matter is a dead giveaway.

So which one should I play?

>played 100 games
>positioning doesn't matter
stop talking out of your ass

They're all the same.

Legal slots simulator for zoomers.

wrong

Only the names of the unit types are different.

the dota 2 custom game is the more complete atm. The underlords UI is prettier tho. The riot one is going into beta in two days.

>valve version

isn't this the worst choice?

League's TFT is almost assuredly going to be more popular and successful so that one.

The one that jews you the less. So probably Valve version.

the itemization is completely different. Even the movement of the character is completely different which actually makes ranged units stronger in underlords. There are also missing unit types in underlords

Because they're playing against shitters that don't know how to play the game

There's certain "builds/strategies" that you can play. Shitters don't know about those, therefore they automatically lose since they don't know how to make use of any positive RNG that they receive.
If everyone knows how to play the game properly, then the luckier player automatically wins.

riot has never stuck to any of there gamemodes for long or anything for that fact, it will fail like every other game mode they abandon.

To be fair Autopoker would be a more appropriate name.

Their hearthstone clone was a failed greed grab. I'd say Epic version would be best and they reward players with money

>hearthstone clone
Are you retarded?

because of the economy "trick" wich is more like the only way to play this, saving top money so u get more gold each round, wich new poeple dont know

>pic related, destroyed everyone cuz i got lucky since start, ive won more than 20 times

position doesnt matter, the board its too small. also its RNG because you dont know who you fighting next, unless its the 1v1 at last, wich nothing matters because you have your setup built already, this game is not strategic in any way

>not Bing It™
One job

>uses a screenshot of a warrior comp to say positioning doesn't matter.
Try that with hunters or mages or even assassins retard.

"Chess" is the translation from Chinese "Qi" which is the name for any generic board game on a grid

3 warriors = warrior comp LMAO, you must be retarded

positioning horribly with something like hunters and mages will get you killed. How bout showing a full match history instead of a high roll game?

So is just a bad translation? That makes sense.

>"Artifact has RNG so it's shit"
>Proceed to play auto-chess

Underlords or original mod

Much more complicated than you think, their money model was made to be more like actual ccg:s, the problem is that actual ccg:s have the most jew money models in the world that is embraced because it's oldschool. It had a healthier money model than any other computer ccg, problem is that people don't find buying singles and small stuff with money fun. It's too complicated and it has the feeling that it has too many microtransactions even if they are together more fair than others in teh market.

Also it clearly wasn't a clone.
It died because you had to pay 20€ for the game that was weird and complex with a boring core set and then you had to pay extra to progress.

Real CCG:s are fucking dinosaurs and PC players don't want to play them, it's not fun.

> pay for game
> pay for cards
> pay for "ranked" game attempt
At least Underlords are f2p. And i dont think Gaben will charge for something other than cosmetics.
