Ant Man and Vision may or may not be playable in the base roster as well, since Vision was in a big group montage when the game was first revealed and everyone else in it has since been confirmed playable, and Ant Man was on some leaked merchandise for this game alongside Elektra, and she was confirmed playable during E3.

The Fantastic Four being DLC is probably due to bad timing more than anything else. See, for awhile the Fantastic Four was being phased out of stuff because of Ike Perlmutter absolutely hates Fox so much that he was petty enough to want the FF out of stuff to spite them simply because they owned the movie rights to the Fantastic Four and he didn't want Marvel "promoting" them. So the FF were written out of comics and other media. Marvel Heroes, the F2P game that was sort of similiar to this, had the entire FF team plus several other FF characters all there as playable characters, but during this period of time the game was forced to remove them all from the game. The only one that got to stay was Doctor Doom, but that was because he was the main antagonist of the game's story, so removing him would have required way more work.

It's only recently with Disney's acquisition of Fox that the Fantastic Four has been eased back into things. They finally got their own book again as a full team recently over in the comics,Insomniac's Spider-man game, which launched with zero references to the FF, only just got two FF outfits in a free update a few months ago...MUA3 was probably too deep into development for Team Ninja to insert FF content into the base game, given that all of this happened months ago.

EMH was cancelled because JephLoeb took over Marvel Animation mid-S2. He didn't think kids can get into long term continuity and wanted to push Tony, Cap, Thor, and Hulk way more instead of the more balanced team the show had. This lead to some weird continuity errors and the only bad episode of the show in the second half of S2, before canceling it, despite the show being pitched and picked up for 4.

Loeb also threw out completed Josh Keaton (Spectacular Spidey and UMvC3 Spidey) voice work for Drake Bell last minute without telling Josh.

In MUA there were some things that had a very broad skill check like flight or super strength.
Then again it was absolutely trivial to just go back a bit and swap someone in and out to make it work.

Ant Man is almost certainly in, just not confirmed yet. Nova, sadly no. They have all the movie Guardians, although in only 4 slots since Rocket and Groot are one character.

Ant-Man/Giant-Man is in the game but not confirmed playable, Wasp is playable though. We don't know about Nova.

Even if Nova would be in, it would probably be just Alexander.

Nah, Richard was the Nova in MvC3, and they've stopped pushing Sam. His book got cancelled and he's actually been depowered for a while.

The other two UA games were great so I don't see this one being bad. There's enough heroes I actually like to have me interested. It's not gonna be some "Final Fantasy of our time" sorta thing but it'll likely be fun and enjoyable to anyone who has characters in it that they like.

If i have to choose between a game where i can make a team out of 40 Marvel heroes with different abilities, and a game where i am given only 5 with set pieces and the game will force me to play with them whenever it wants too, then my choice is obvious. MUA is the way to go for me. EA took away Marvel Heroes because it wasn't profitable enough for them so i guess i will need to use this to satisfy my hunger

I guess we'll see. But I've been really dying for some good Marvel games since Marvel Heroes shut down. Ultimate Alliance 3 will probably be the best game we'll get.

those guys were justified, even as far back as avengers 1 in 2012 hawkeye solidified himself as part of the original 6 MCU avengers. Not having him is just weird, especially since they have black widow in it.

Only major loss from the deal was that MUA1 and 2 had to be pulled from sale, but the upside is that we got to hear Marvel games shit talk Activision and say how much better it is to work with Nintendo.
