This reminds me of how lazy designers have gotten. There are so many games now that are just about throwing the player in a sandbox and doing stupid shit, with a bunch of tongue-in-cheek humor, like this game, but they don't have a narrative and art style that complements it and makes it feel professionally done. It's always amateur developers who just throw shit together without any thematic congruence in the sandbox and expect the player to care. Here, I know exactly why I am fucking shit up and being a retard, because I am a little gremlin from out of space who no need no (hu)man.

I personally am against remakes and remasters because i think video games work best as a sort of time capsule where they represent and belong to the era in which they were made

This is less the case for video games than for books and movies, because game mechanics and rules are independent of the age, like sports.

I never understand why people are upset with remakes. I just see it as an option. You don't like the remake? Thats fine just go back to the original, it's not like when a remake exist the original will dissapear.
Same case with persona 5 and the royal and people are worried that the royal will ruin the original. Like why should you care? If the royal sucks then play the original.

actually the animations and expressions are key to the character. crypto's face has a particular character to it, and his stance/animations.

I don't think you're getting what I'm saying. The movements look incorrect because it's a mapping of movement via the anatomy of a human being forced onto a body that doesn't match. They could have animated his movements based around the shape of the his body and it would look more natural.

also your post doesn't make sense because he's a human alien, that's part of the game's idea, that the alien is more human and relatable than the paranoid 1950s humans.

because they're taking way too long just to get this game done and out as it is.
release date, as said by the dev at E3, is: "sometime in 2020, when it's still warm out" which could be summer or early fall, which is over a year to go.
