I've heard many horror stories about Microsoft. The issue is that Microsoft has too much money, too much importance given to middle managers, and interchangeable pajeet for coding. Microsoft can spearhead incredible technology for a time, but all technological advance is soon lost to the utter chaos.

Good computer scientists lose all faith to the company months after being hired. As long as it works, don't touch it. If the middle management want something, do it immediately, and if you do it wrong, no problem, we can always sell paid updates later. A enormous amount of money was thrown into a new kernel between Windows XP and Windows 7 (iirc), and when the kernel didn't work after two years, it was thrown away and the work began anew.

Often, you need to listen to the people who know how those kinds of thing works for them to work. The best kernel managers are kernel developers. Focus is good, but you need to have a modicum of respect (or even _try_) for your product to be good.

As far as I have talked with Microsoft devs, Microsoft doesn't try. The management don't try for a good product. They don't even try for a working product. They're flailing around with very short-term solutions to long-term problem, until it's all a sandcastle. They're thoroughly incompetent, and the incompetence have infested all the company from the top to the bottom. It's very _hard_ to do a good job in Microsoft, even if you try your best, because you fight the hierarchy at every step.

It's an app store, what did you expect? App shit is never functional because it's not about the consumer, it's about control.

It also has abysmal download speeds and on top of that required me to get garbage Windows Insider and install 17 unstable preview builds just to play Metro.
I think it took me closer to 2 hours to just sign up and get everything working. This is why PC gaming will never be a thing with normalfags because if trash like this pisses me off Norman is going to give up after 10 minutes.

This is the worst part about it, I was purposely avoiding the download of newer updates but to play Metro it basically forced me too.

It's not the best thing. I guess for 2 bucks it ain't too bad to have access to the catalog of games on pass for 3 months but I'm not looking forward to getting anything more than that. Just played through Ori, not that many games interesting there. Not to mention, can't back up saves, can't edit settings locally (through cfg files and such), can't add profiles on AMD radeon settings... rather inconvenient. And having save sync issues every now and then is annoying. The PC pass is definitely not worth it for the "normal" price, fuck that shit. I feel like people fell for a scam when they abused the whole xbox live gold thing to get the ultimate pass at a "lower price".

I can only hope so, to this day afterburner+rivatuner can't overlay UWP games.
