Another battle royale with a slightly different gimmick

Setting is really interesting, awesome graphics, popular game mode - what do you even need for success?

>crytek
Looks really nice at least. What the fuck is that bug monster though

Good gameplay

>popular game mode
That doesn't work like that.
Battle Royale is popular, but the spots are already taken.
Fortnite and PUBG, with a tiny bit of Apex Legends. That's it. People don't need or want more.
It's like all those games which tried to enter the MOBA genre against LoL and DotA2, and they died miserably except for maybe 1 or 2.

But it's pretty far from a BR, there's no shitty looting and there's some persistence to the matches. It has it's flaws, but still manages to be pretty unique.

Marketing
A shitty ass MP only game could only get popular with a huge marketing budget

cause it sucks

Sadly it runs like shit albeit a bit better lately and the controls and movement is rivaling ARMA in clunkiness and last i played i got constantly queued with 100+ rankers since the playerbase was still small and rating was not implemented.

I want to like it but for every thing i like there are 2 other things preventing me from enjoying it.

The devs listened to players too much and turned the game into Hunt : Global Offensive. I remember playing this when it launched and getting into intense cowboy shootouts. Now every weapon is pinpoint accurate and most fights are over in seconds which doesn't lend itself well to the slow nature of this game. Many matches are spent by wandering around for 10 minutes and getting instantly killed by some guy hiding in a bush.

>there's no shitty looting

runs like shit, requires a friend to play, the servers rubberband constantly

You can loot players for some bullets/cash, but you're not dependent on rng in hopes of finding good gear because you select it before the match.

I hate the first few minutes of BR's because it involves running around while spamming E and hoping something good spawned around you.

>hold to loot
I hate this fucking trend. What started it? Why is this even needed on a PC game?

Wait there is random monsters in tge arena?

It used to be just a button press to loot. It was a deliberate change to make it more dangerous to do so.

>hunt showdown is a battle royale
oops, sorry friend - you just outed yourself as a retard

I think it started with lazy devs porting console games that have Hold [X] to use. Not sure why it's here, maybe people are just used to it.

>corpse has 12 box of ammo, 3 guns, 1 body armor, 1 helmet, 3 HE grenades, 1 flashbang and 1 smoke grenade; 12 gold coins, 3 silver coins and 7 sticks of dynamite
>hold X to loot : takes about 10 seconds to grab all these items
>press X to open menus : takes about 4 seconds to grab all these items
gee I wonder why

Then make it so you have to manually pick and choose what to keep. There, it's balanced out and doesn't require consolefaggotry tier game design.

I want to get it but its still to expensive, even on g2a. Looks awesome, love the setting and overall atmosphere.

>any game with more than two teams fighting is a battle royale

I jumped on the free weekend and have really enjoyed it. It's got some issues and the gunplay is a little stiff, but it actually does get my heart rate going when coming across other players.

I've been playing solo in main mode and sometimes teams of two kill me, other times I kill both of them and damn it's intense. I feel it could get a little repetitive but the atmosphere and design of this game is just new and great to me.

I don't class it as a battle royal game. Bought it for 32 AUD which I think is alright.
