Far Cry 2

Literally soul

Far Cry
>SOUL
Far Cry 2345
>SOULLESS

Far Cry 1 > Far Cry 2

its the epitome of soulless repetition.

People gave it a lot of shit for the respawning bases but when I played 3 and managed to clear the whole map the game suddenly got boring and I had nothing to do with all the awesome guns I'd collected

And I always find fast travel means like 'take the bus' more interesting than just teleporting from anywhere to anywherr

>Endless patrols
>Weapon degradation
Nah

Why does everyone talk a million miles an hour in this game?

Terrible game. The original Far Cry was the only good Far Cry ever made

Africans have a life span of two decades at the very most, so they speak faster to compensate.

The game is absolutely nothing like the game they actually wanted to make. And Ubisoft wouldn't let them release mod tools either. There's no soul there, just shattered dreams and corporate greed as there always is 99% of the time you retards claim a game has "soul".

Correct.

Everyone else is wrong and a newfag

its trash

Most boring game I've ever played in my life.

Honestly, one of the few boring ones I've played. Since FC3 came out it became some sorta boomer magnet though

>FC3
Radio tower climbing simulator

>Brown and bloom era games are now considered soulful.

This guy gets it

That's not the worst part about FC3
Assault Rifles have a range of like 50 meters before they become ineffective. made me drop the game after 30 or 40 minutes.

fucking noguns devs

Boring garbage, boring characters, shit color palette. I tried and tried and tried to get into it, but it's just boring shit game, but a good techdemo.

They had to eventually patch to game to where you could reset outposts. I feel like outposts get too much shit since you can avoid a good amount of them.

Any FClike game that is actually good?

3, 4 and 5 are the only good ones. Cope more contrarians.

Literally the most soulless ""open"" world shooter ever created. There's nothing to see or do in the entire game.

wasted potential. I loved the graphics, the gun store, the diamond hunting, the concept, the fire gimmick etc. But the actual game systems were too fucking garbage to hold it up plus it was developed by nogunz ubisoft liberals that ruined immersion with their firearm illiteracy. Examples of terrible game systems: Inability to actually take advantage of stealth due to foliage not blocking line of sight and gun noise being irrelevant. I hid in the hills with that quiet sniper (think it was dart gun or smthn), headshot a guy and the entire outpost knew I was hiding in the hills despite being surrounded by long grass at night with no muzzle flash or noise or anything to go by. It really takes away from the game when basically the only approach you've got despite this dynamic environment and large toolkit of equipment is just go in guns blazing.

Also, they included a mortar but the game design made it as pointless as the stealth-oriented gear.

>being underage
>not having played Far Cry 1

poor child

crysis is the best far cry game.

To be fair the soulless brown and bloom shootan are only juxtaposed by the even more soulless current era of games.

>stealth doesn't work for shit
>Malaria
>50.cal Patrols every meter or so ramming you off the road
>no angry wildlife to kill you (other than the niggers)
>Para gliding was rare and when encountered was a buggy piece of shit
>every single ak47 in not-Africa is a magazine away from rusting and blowing up in your hand.

>Mortar
>stealth-oriented gear
What

learn to read.
>made it as pointless as the stealth-oriented gear.
>as pointless
i in no way implied the mortar was stealthy

>fire mortar from a mountain top down into a camp far far away
>as soon as the shot lands every single enemy homes in on your position

3rd world retard

>>Malaria
Malaria attacks are driven by a mission counter rather than time, meaning it's your fault if you ignore the underground missions (which only pop up when you're low on pills) and die.

>playing an ex-IRA man rampaging across africa

ESL get out

zoomer faggot

>respawning outposts
If the outposts didn't respawn then people would be calling that a fault in the narrative. Later far cry games you are liberating that region from the oppressive antagonists. In Far Cry 2 you are doing no such thing. You are working FOR the antagonists to further your hunt for the Jackal.
>endless patrols
The game world is an African country during a civil war between two sides of equal strength. An irl faction will repopulate their outposts and regularly patrol their territories.

I don't think people would mind if the outposts respawned over time, say 24 hours in game or something. But they don't, the instant you get a certain distance away they immediately reset. It's garbage. You can try and explain it from a story perspective but it's a technical problem

I honestly liked Far Cry 4 quite a bit, not-Nepal was an interesting setting for a videogame and the story wasn't all that bad. Blood Dragon was pretty good too.

>Not Primal

The main issue with the outposts is that they respawn by distance. You just have to walk out of rendering distance, and every mook you spent time slaughtering will be right there. I still think the complaints about the outposts are overblown.

>dude I was just selling weapons to the civilian-oppressing factions to help civilians
>kill yourself for my crusade lol, here are your choices
>blow yourself up, I swear I won't just run with the diamonds
>shoot yourself with a flare gun
The Jackal was the most frustrating Far Cry antagonist. Was he meant to be convincing and charismatic, like Pagan Min? If so they failed horribly. I enjoyed all your buddies betraying you though, that was cool

All his character development takes place off screen. It's a really fucking bizarre design decision. You spend ages running around collecting tapes of his "philosophy" and then at the end of the game he just goes "Oh, I don't believe any of that shit anymore. I stopped believing sometime between when we first met and now. Come on! We've got to work together to save the people!"

Its not that they respawn. Its that they respawn while I'm still in fucking sight range of the camp

FC2 is unironic underrated flawed gem.
Vanilla balance is pretty shit I agree but thematically the game is still great.
And with mods the balancing is fixed so it's great overall and not just thematically.

>brown and bloom
>soul
you're so underage it hurts
