They literally show you driving in third person in the gameplay footage. I dont remember where it was, but they expanded on that by saying that third person will exist in driving because first person driving sucks so much

a mix of first person and third person doesn't mean you can switch between the two perspectives from anywhere anytime

Not every RPG uses class systems.
Pondsmith himself said 2020 only had a class system because at the time the cyberpunk genre was too new to assume players would know the associated character tropes and archetypes.

Since he's working on Cyberpunk 2040 right now, this could imply he's moving on to a point-buy system like GURPS, which is what the Fallout games are based on.
