Will you be playing it?

Will you be playing it?

No, and neither will anyone else.

Yes, and so will everyone else.

3D HIGH QUALITY PUFFPUFFS

no. bought it on ps4 and it was pretty boring shit.
im sure the switch version is just as boring.

t. Japan

Doubtful

Yes, day 1. I'm extremely satisfied that in terms of everything besides graphics it's not a gimped experience, it's basically what everyone who portbegged for Persona 5 wanted what P5R to be.

The 2D mode is enough to replay it.

Why would I pay 60 schmolians to play it again at 540p@30fps?

>tfw have to play every other game before playing this one

fucking christ, I really wanna buy a Switch now bros, but every model I could buy right now is not hackable I think
>tfw you missed the Switch train

Attached: fat wojak.png (640x783, 90K)

probably. been thinking about getting a switch for a while and this kind of tips the balance in favor of getting one.

Is there no Dragon Quest game on the switch yet?

DQB is.

why would you buy the worst current gen console for a port of a 2 year old game?

Yes. It kind of makes me glad that they didn't localize the 3DS version and gimped the others because I never would have guesses the Switch would have even more content.

Yes but I'm going through every Dragon Quest in release order first so probably not at launch

I saw that in the stores but I figured it wasn't the mainline game but some spinoff. Never played a DQ game but it sounded up my alley after I saw vbros shilling it. Considering getting DQ-XI defo edition.

>Have PS4 version and never finished it
>Really want to play the Switch version because extra content, orchestrated music and Japanese audio
>Have to wait 3 months

Maybe, but I really didn't like the DQ games I tried so far, even though I'm fan of the genre.
Willing to give it a chance but don't have much hope it will actually deserve it.

Smash made me curious about the series, so I'll probably buy it day one

>Worst

That aint the xbox

i wonder how yuzu will emulate 2d mode

No, I regret getting this shallow piece of shit on pc, too.

Is it at least better than Dragon Quest 7?
That was a piece of shit.

DQXI is long as shit just like all the other post 7 titles, its also mind numbingly easy on the default mode

Probably, yeah.

Is the story mind numbingly generic as well?

This
Then again I was always a big DQ fag

maybe. i haven't played a dq game before. i was gonna try one of the 3ds ones first. also might wait because apparently, this could come to PC, and i'd rather play it there than the switch.

Well you shouldn’t have listened to the anti switch memes then
T. Owns 2 hackable switches

fuck yeah I am. Just beat 1. Might continue playing the others not sure. I'm not trying to burn myself out on RPGS

They’ll probably be porting every DQ game they have to switch in the meantime.
>Smash Ad
>DQ 1-14 now on Switch
>DQ 15S Now available
Just give it some damn time
It’s a process is all

I tried to like turn based game but I don't like turn based games so probably not unless there's characters I really like that keep the story interesting for me.

100% finished the PS4 version, gonna play through this in Japanese now. I intend to use it as a learning tool.

>same monster every single game
>same items every single game
>same npcs every single game
yeah, i finished DQ5 and i don't bother anymore

I know S will have Japanese voiceovers, but will it have Japanese text too?

can someone confirm if you can marry jade in S??

seriously if its a yes then its a buy

Yeah, I skipped on the PS4 version, not a fan of turn based RPGs on nonportable consoles.

this

I'm kinda glad I skipped it earlier on.
I'll give it a go.

Stop making this thread, for gods sake

If I can transfer my PC save like in some other games, then yeah I will.

They said you can

Not true. They may look the same, but they feel different.

yes

He can always order the Japanese version.

Source, because there is simply no way in hell that is true.

Maybe. I'm trying to decide whether to buy DQXI or Chocobo's Dungeon.

No, because dq aside maybe one game or two game is actually shit franchise and this one is shit

Waiting for 3ds version to come out.

ha

Yes. Ive never played a DQ before.

Buying it day one. I was seething they didn't bring the 3DS version over but thank fuck they put the classic style in this one. And being able to go back to old dragon quest games is cool even though it'll probably be really shallow interaction between dqxi party members and those from the other games

It looks incredibly bland, idk why Japs eat that shit up and get offended when Westerners don't.

I bought Choco never having played it before. Its...alright.

Probably i like traditional jrpgs can't stand that action real time shit that most jrpgs have become

I never looked too closely at it, is it a lot like Pokemon Mystery Dungeon?

But switch is the only next gen console currently available

Never played a Dragon Quest game. Barely even knew of the franchise as a whole until the Smash speculation frenzy happened, and Square really trying to market DQ to the west recently. But, I might pick it up when it comes to Switch, game looks really pretty and polished.
Does the gameplay sell the game on its own? As in, I'm the kind of person who might laugh at how cliche and overdone a plot is, or at worst find it boring. Will I still enjoy this game as long as I enjoy JRPG gameplay? How's the difficulty?

So wait, the Switch version has both the PS4 graphics style and 3DS classic 2D style and you can change anytime?

Same here. It's offensively generic and bland, no matter how much fans are trying to assert that it is a good thing.

DQXI was my first DQ game and I really enjoyed it!

The gameplay mechanics doesn't require to grind as much (unless you wanna tryhard and spend a few hours grinding out metal slimes for the exp boost using the powerups of the characters for extra bonuses). But thats for endgame so you don't have to worry about it that much. The characters are also very likeable.

The switch version will also have the orchestra music so that's a plus, the original midi music was bearable but the orchestra music do add to the experience.

According to this poster, the difficulty is mind numbingly easy on the default mode. There is an option I think that adds super bosses that require grinding to beat, but idk if it actually makes the game more fun or not.

DQ stories are never as generic as they look.

No.
Unless you convice me otherwise I will believe that this is generic shovelware weebtrash. .

>Game is either braindead easy or require grinding
Why is it so hard to make engaging gameplay?

Have you been living under a rock? Watch the gameplay from the e3 video. And that's not even all, we get a few more shit that wasnt on either 3ds and ps4. Even speeding up battles

Maybe. I'm primarily interested in the S version because I heard an Erik romance has been added. If it's an actual romance and not just fujobait "heterosexual friends for life," then I'll get the game.

Attached: Camus.(Dragon.Quest.XI).full.2397720.jpg (750x750, 159K)

Engaging gameplay is not being a shitter and figuring out how to beat hard more without grinding. There's even a setting you can activate that makes enemies lower level than you not give any EXP, making it impossible to grind.

Yes, on PC thanks yo yuzu but only if it has voice acting.

No because they should have made it dlc for early adopters. Never buying a DQ games again unless it's used and 2 years after release. Fuckl SE

I still have a sealed copy of the PS4 version on my shelf that I found on sale for half price. I haven't had any luck selling it.

Should I just open it and play it?

Yes. Play and enjoy it

The marketing for this night and day compared to the original release on the PS4/PC in the west. I'm honestly expecting to sell more on the switch as I know I am buying it again.

This one has a bunch of romance options right?

Is it less boring?

No, I already played it and won't pay $60 for a shitty port.

It has 2D mode so yeah. Buying it as soon as it's out, keep giving me 2D DQ and I'll give you all my momey

Yes since i didn’t play it the first time around. I’m just really hoping that the switch doesn’t squander how pretty the game will be.

Fuck yeah, it was a blast on PS4 and this version fixes most of the game's problems while adding new shit. Let's go.

Yep, I enjoyed it so much I don't mind playing it again.

Absolutely. If you're asking to me two years ago that is.

Then don't get the game, fag.

I really liked the game, but I'm only playing this version if it comes to PC. If not I'll emulate it.

It doesn’t require grinding, you’re just shit. I beat hard mode underlevelled.

I already played it but the game drags on too fucking long for me to replay it so soon.

Maybe, but I'd like some actual details about what the new content involves.

if it comes to PC, yeah.
I've been holding on buying the first edition since you couldn't marry Jade there

I have not played the game. It was a comment on and of the genre in general.
Does the game give enough guidance to have a good time on hard mode for a first playthrough without having to resort to grinding?

the graphics is really good.

I've been playing a rom of Dragon Warrior and I have to say, it's more fun than I expected.
It's very grindy though

Attached: Dragon_Warrior_-_NES_-_Map_-_Alefgard_-_Poster.jpg (3007x2019, 1.88M)

Definitely, for sure if they maintain the same classic DQ formula I will not be playing it because the games are too easy, bloated and slow.

I'm more of an action jrpg guy.

Attached: 71Pbh-5pytL._AC_SX215_.jpg (215x297, 30K)

No, I already put 100 hours into the original. I'd rather go back and play some I haven't yet.

just emulate an old one if you're not sure

Yes

As someone who has never played a DQ game but wouldn't mind giving it a whirl sell me on this. The last JRPG I played was XBC2 and got hours out of it. Haven't played Octopath Traveler yet.

Which kind of JRPGs do you like?
DQ is a very classical one, mostly the same formula since the NES era (outside of outliers like IX and X).

Besides XBC2 hadn't played a JRPG since FFX came out. I liked the first few FF games but had to take breaks when they got too grindy. Really if progress requires I grind more than a couple hours a week I get bored.

well it's basically that. Imagine the first FF games with the feeling of being super long.
They can be really good games, but they're really long. They're less condensed than FF, but that's also what make them more enjoyable to some people.
Very classical in gameplay and story.

How much grinding are we talking about? Scale of XBC 2 to MHGU.

XC2 levels.
No grind to beat monsters or get better equipment, just a long, long game (I think it's around 150h to 100% it?).

Fuck it I'm sold. Thanks user.

Yeah, it's a series. That's the point. Changing things for the sheer sake of changing things is how you end up like Final Fantasy.
