Just bought this for $35.

My last 3D Zelda was Twilight Princess.

Sorry to derail your thread OP, but is Hyrule Warriors worth this much? Bearing in mind that sealed copies of the Wii U and 3DS versions are easily findable for like ten bucks.

Go in blind. Just have fun experimenting for a bit, then come back and make this thread.

I will say one thing though, if you jump and then equip/use your shield you can surf on it.
Didn't find out until a good way into the game and spent the majority of time surfing around after that. Tanks the durability though so have a few dedicated for surfing.

Ignoring all the inevitable shitposting, that’s a great price for the game. Go in blind, no need for tips. Figuring out how to play is part of the fun

depends, if you like to travel a lot and get use out of your switch for traveling I'd say its worth it, however unless you like hack and slashes I wouldn't buy any version

It is nothing like Twilight Princess, and that's the best part.

The first 3D Zelda I've truly enjoyed for exactly that reason. Have fun!

The Faron region (Southeast most region) is the most important region as far as materials to farm and make down. Stock up on mighty bananas and hearty Durians. Use your orbs for Stamina first since heart containers are meaningless. Get good at understanding resource management when it comes to your weapons, learn how to farm Major Tests of Strength after Blood Moons. Kakariko village is the comfiest and building your house is highly recommended and worth the rubies.

Stop looking at this thread.
Don't read guides.
Go in blind.

This is the only time when you will have the maximum fun with the game. After the sense of wonder and discovery wears off, then the enjoyment drastically declines.

make sure you use your eyes, apparently seeing things is one of the hallmarks of this game according to its supporters

Go in blind. Have fun. Be creative.

Don't expect too much in the way of dungeons. It's more about a starry eyed sense of wonder while wandering its vast landscapes. Either you have that wanderlust or you don't. I didn't so I didn't care too much for the game.

Don't use a guide, a lot of the joy of that game is just feeling everything out
also don't strive for 100% completion it's possible but you will drive yourself insane

>ubisoft open world like
>weapons break

It's shit. Dropped it after 10 hours.

Sorry I got mixed up. Hateno village is the comfiest. Your combat effectiveness is also directly tied to your weapons power and equipment. Find a way to climb the ladder to top level weapons fast which is what Major Tests of Strength are for. Also in the South West, North East and North West regions of the map are giant mazes. These lead to the barbarian armor set which is the best in the game and gives you a permanent damage buff when you wear it.

>$35
where did you find it for this price?

>Any tips and recs?
Ignore Yea Forums, form your own opinions, find things out for yourself and explore, and have fun if it's possible for you.

That's my tips and recs.

don't kill ganondorf until you want to stop playing forever

Use the fuckking weapons the game gives you and don't bitch all day about them breaking.
Experiment and don't be a sperg about it, that's not the point, have fun.

One of the best games ever.

I recommend getting a Spotify subscription and letting it play actual good music on your phone while you’re playing, cause BotW’s OST is terribad

Go for Ganondorf only when you are completely done with the game.

Based same except for me it was 15 hours

Don't listen to him user.
The music is superb, but retarded 9yo can't appreciate it because it's not the usual boring fake-hans zimmer OST from the hyper budget trash blockbuster rip-off fantasy movie they like.

if you're gonna get the 3ds version get the switch version
at this point, there's so much dlc for the original that's included in this that it's a pretty good value
best performance of any of the three versions too, more enemies on screen and closer to 60 fps than the wii u was to 30

every Zelda had good ost before BotW, sorry bud

>Any tips and recs?
Get your money back

Yeah, this one is no exception

>People bought a Wii U / Switch solely for this game.
It's better by miles on PC.

I really like that one song where nothing is playing and then suddenly we get 3 seconds of piano doodles before going silent again. Sorry, I can’t name it cause all songs are like that in BotW’s OST.

Yeah, caught myself humming that Maze Forest theme to work the other day.
Beats pedestrian shit like Song of Storms any day of the week.

Play it on pc for free with better graphics, frame rate and controllers.

How?

Go to the Humble Store and buy a download code for any Switch game.
They don't advertise it, but it comes with the VSP (Virtual Switch Player) software that runs on Windows and plays the Switch games you've downloaded from the Humble Store.

It plays more like the very first Legend of Zelda than any other one. Take that in mind and don't expect Ocarina of Time.

Take your time with it, and do it blind. If i had to give you one personal preference, i'd say don't use horses.

Like I said, it's too sophisticated for 9yo
"where's the sound??!?!?!?!why it's silent now!?!? I NEED a TUNE I Can SInG!!! Why This music is StraNge??!!??!?!"

Take it slow and savor it.

Just don't get obsessed by korok seeds. They're not meant to be taken at a completionist level unless you're REALLY attached to the game. They can sour the game.

You don't know jack shit about music if you think non-portable melodies or the absence of memorable leitmotifs indicate some kind of sophisticated "higher art" in a score. All it indicates is a composer who ran out of ideas or time or is just a hack through-and-through.

FYI, you're the one arguing for modern "Hans Zimmerisms" here. You're elated to hear atmospheric wallpaper and don't mind that it wilts in isolation, like every single cinematic soundtrack since the late 2000's.

On that note, did you know Hans Zimmer wrote the memorable soundtracks to The Lion King and Pirates of The Carribbean, and only later did bullshit like Inception and Man of Steel after he was pigeon-holed as "the epic music guy"? Good composers can appear to become hacks for any number of reasons, even while they're still great at what they do.

In the case of BotW, none of those composers have any excuse. They're just hacks who can't write to save their lives and were hoping people like you would justify their trash output. Congratulations on doing that for them.

Bottom line: there is nothing memorable about the BotW soundtrack. If you're not playing the game, the music isn't in your head. That's a big fail for production music. Stop shilling it already.

Definitely. It's chock full of content. It's made with a lot of love and has references up the ass, be it in plot, interactions or even songs. It'll last you hundreds of hours if you try and 100% it.

I know Hans Zimmer is good, that's why i called the trend "boring fake-hans zimmer".

" the absence of memorable leitmotifs indicate some kind of sophisticated"
Nope.
I said you all are 9yo because you can't appreciate anything that DOESEN'T have said things.

"shilling"
"hack"
You are indeed a prime example of Yea Forums

Hack and shill are very specific words with specific meanings.
Taking them to mean anything else as you are reflects your own inexperience.

Go ahead and notate any theme from BotW and show me how great it is on paper. Hum or whistle it for me. Play it back on piano. Re-orchestrate it and give it another feeling.
Sure, drones are great for atmosphere where melodies would only distract, but most of this game NEEDS distractions from all the fucking walking. In combat, guess what they give in place of proper melody? Beeps and chimes that would work better as UI blips, and chordal stabs that have no functional purpose. They did a much better job of action cues in WW, and because none of that earlier experience transferred over should tell you something: these composers suck at their jobs. They are the definition of hacks.

I'm thinking this right now: "It takes a really fucked up brain to "appreciate" a goddamn drone in isolation when its only purpose is to enhance a scene. What, is video game music all you listen to? Do you play this shit in your car on your way to work? Have you never vocally communicated with another human being in your life?" So on, and so forth... That's how you're painting yourself to me right now. The person you're presenting here is a fucking weirdo who pretends to know what music is without knowing how it works, or maybe even some kind of insane up-his-own-ass theorist like Rick Beato who talks about 9ths and modes like they're second nature but couldn't write decent jazz to save his life. I'm left wondering: which is it then?

Actually I don't care. It's late, I'm off.

It's good game. The divine beast were cool and even one of them is definitely in my ten favorites in the series youtube.com/watch?v=4iumX1cNtSI but i missed dungeons like youtube.com/watch?v=7551WLQ9U8w, which is my favorite in the series. But I'm sure you'll like it.

This.
Shit turned me so obsessed for searching every single spot on the map and made me drop the game after +50h.

It's video game music user, BOTW have great music because it serves the game.
Some tracks are good if you haven't even touch a video game and some track exist only for game purposes.

That's the problem with you 9yo and Yea Forums in general.
You can't take anything for what it is so you all act like retarded everytime something is not copying the same pattern.

The BOTW OST is great.
If you think otherwise because "muh but Dark Souls has better music" you are literally a retarded.

You are retarded.

Posting some music just for triggering Yea Forums snowflakes

Don't try to force it. If you start getting bored immediately go to Ganon as it won't get any better.

It's musou shit which is extremely hit or miss for people. If you're thinking of buying purely because it has a Zelda skin, don't. You can enjoy looking at the pretty models online.

I hate fags like you that not only condone mediocrity, but feel the need to be a colossal asshole about it.

I feel the same about you don't worry little snowflake
