They're just very basic games.
But yeah overall it does fuck up any kind of statistic because the overly vast majority will be some basic bitch playing candy crush on her phone somewhere, or some old soccer mom playing it on her tablet when she's bored.
They definitely inflate the numbers by including a dispoprionate amount of people that are barely playing "video games".

In my experience girls either really like WRPGs, or they really like JRPGs.
The main factor is always the same: the characters.
Gameplay is secondary.
They usually spend a shit ton of time shipping the characters and making fanart/slashfics about them.
That's the main draw.
It's always been this way, the majority used to be into JRPGs, and now there's a big chunk that is into somewhat more modern WRPGs (and indie RPGs especially).
But the attraction remains the same, fantasizing about the characters in the games.
Most girls are reverse waifufags.

Can we start a campaign to change sport games to appeal to women? I mean, if only 2% of the player base is women that absolutely has to be discrimination. There is literally no other explanation. Women are being excluded from the genre.
