The speed clear meta is a blight among average players who don't even understand why something is meta. There's tons of people who haven't even finished savage and the meta classes aren't going to magically make them stop fucking up mechanics.

I can count on one hand when the DPS checks for a savage thing this expansion have caused us to wipe, just staying alive and doing moderate DPS is enough to snatch victory most of the time. For most fights, you can literally just listen to a competent raid leader call shit out and do fine.

I wiped about 10 times on Halicarnassus on Week 1 of Deltascape at sub 3-4% with several 1% wipes. That's the only time I felt like enrage had mattered, and if I had been in a meta comp we would have cleared the first or second time we wiped at low %.
We did clear her on Week 1, but it took like 4 hours longer than it should have.
Also only a few of us had crafted gear.

Basically the first 60+ hours you play will be doing an extremely long mandatory main story quest that is completely single player except for dungeons. There's a automated party finder in this game so you don't have to talk to anyone if you don't want to except in the end game hard content extreme/savage/ultimate

I'm still working through the prerequisite quest chains before heading into Heavensward. I think I'm nearing the end of part 3 and yet I have to do another story raid to progress...and dps queues always are what they are.

Luckily I decided to start the Hildibrand quest chains knowing absolutely nothing of what would happen. I thought I just pursue next quest after next quest to kill the time of these queues. It even go to a point that if my queue popped up, I would have almost ignored it to watch the cut-scenes. Then that ending to the first "episode."

I've only rarely laughed out loud to video game humor. I think the last time something made me laugh out loud at my monitor was Tales from the Borderlands. Inspector Hildibrand is a Godsdamn gem in the MMO genre. Soon after, the Ramuh queue did commence, and that fight (with music) was enchanting.

You don't enter GL4 until over 30 seconds into a fight. You also have a normal GCD speed for 20 of those seconds

Join a BA discord, they hand out invites to people asking in Hydatos. Do the steps needed to "register" (Basically confirm you're not a bot), then either sign up for the queue system if you're on Aether or look in the Raids Recruiting channel if you're on Primal.

If you're on Primal, try to get a run during the daytime hours, it seems the more annoying leaders are all off doing other stuff during that time. Note that sometimes they just spontaneously appear, so use the bot to mark yourself so you get alerts when they do. Without a clear, you'll want to do a learning party because they call out each mechanic in them making them trivial to do, clear parties don't call out most mechanics so while the DPS is usually higher from people with gear, you're more likely going to die. Dying is bad because you cannot be resurrected by traditional means, you'll most likely get kicked out unless someone mercifully wastes some expensive logograms to resurrect you.

For preparation, you really only need to worry about having the generic logograms up, Spirit of the Remembered for all jobs. There's some other ones that help you do your job better (A DPS bonus one, an armor bonus one, and a healing bonus one), and while those are good, some of them are expensive. The main thing is keeping up spirit of the remembered at all times since it gives you a 70% chance to resurrect if you die.

You will probably die to mechanics at least once or twice. Almost everything is lethal if you get hit by it. The final two bosses are DPS checks, and the very final boss is mechanic heavy and one person messing up can cause a wipe. Don't feel bad if you don't get them down in your first few runs because every run still gets you fragments to upgrade your armor and weapons, which will make subsequent runs easier.

"Azure Dragoon" is the title of the person that can actually draw forth the power from the eye. During the DRG missions, the eye rouses for you as Estinien put it, making it the first time in history the eye has accepted more than one person at a time. We DO use the eye, we killed an Ascian with it.

It's by far the easiest melee DPS to manage in 5.0, even without ACT triggers for anatman during your opener. All you're doing is 456123 over and over outside of RoF+BH windows every 90 seconds and when PB comes up you just alternate between DK and BS. Brotherhood is a slight rDPS boost and mantra helps with tough healing segments of which there probably wont be any for all of SHB due to healers having even stronger heals

You get like 10 autos in RoF with GL3, with GL4 even if you got an 11th that 11th autoattack is doing 4% less damage along with all the other autos and that's assuming you have no raid buffs up and no AST cards or any other external buffs up. So that's only really gaining a little over half an autoattack, with the tradeoff being you lose 4% damage on every single GCD you do.

If you're asking because you're wondering if he could die, that doesn't matter for sidequests as they all take place at the point in time they were released. Plenty of characters who get killed or incapacitated in the main story are part of sidequests. And yes, Alphinaud is in Coil(in voiced cutscenes at that) and that's also where all of Alisaie's character development happens. Her dialogue in the main story is different depending on whether or not you've done it.

Not really, most of them will carry your ass rather than make an enemy out of you. It's more annoying to them to have you snipe portals every run than it is for them just to clear and have you never show up again. If you jump in a portal without being in a group, they'll send you the voicechat link and tell you don't do it again.

In reality, the only way they can stop you is by not doing the run themselves. If they attempt runs, you as an individual can fuck with them every time, cheating someone out of a run by sniping a portal.

It's a world dungeon, what were you expecting? For one group to have their own private little instance?

The dungeon actually scales down to a minimum of 24 players as well, so even if some retards wind up dying to mechanics throughout, the bosses max HP is adjusted to compensate. This makes it easy to clear for anyone, but difficult for dedicated groups to farm without relying on people not bothering them. It's why there's so much secrecy when a group is getting ready to go in to BA (It's almost impossible to hide the fact a group is going in, but no one wants to announce it to the instance until they're all in to prevent sniping), the groups take anyone, but they (usually) attempt to make the run as smooth as possible by organizing things beforehand.
