I think the bigger issue is that the English translation isn't 1:1 and a fair bit is changed to sound less flowery and more direct.

At some point you have to realize that the whole fandom, every last one, is responsible. Especially when you never see anything to the contrary. No sensible people who don't shitpost for example. In fact, if you start right ass now and learn just 20 new words in a language per day for the next 6 months, even if you take breaks on weekends, you will possess enough knowledge to start reading and learning through being entertained rather than by studying. And then, that's it. You're fucking in. You will naturally pick up the more common words anyway, and extras will slip in without even having to try, so it's even quicker than this. Also study some grammar AS YOU READ and encounter it.

For languages that rely on kanji/hanzi/etc you may need to put forth some extra effort and time, but the process is by and large the same. The end goal is getting to read ASAP so you can absorb large quantities of the language in the shortest possible amount of time.

It's a shame, I'd love to see a board where you straight up can't post if you can't type some basic kanji. The problem is that in a few years, image recognition is going to be good enough to make something like that meaningless as a filter.

Honestly it depends on the character but for most of them I would yes. But there a few goods english ones. I like the english Deku tree and the king isn't too bad.

A lot of the english voice work is rather flat and lacks tone though, like they had no direction or context. Zelda in particular has very little range and her accent sounds exaggerated, which is especially notable since no one else has an English accent, not even her dad.

I saw it one of the comments on another comparison video that put it well:
Japanese Zelda sounds like her life is being torn apart, english Zelda sounds like she dropped her ice cream.
