However,the sequel will never surprass the original.
The genre-defying tropes that it played around with will not hit with as much power as it did in Automata.

The story then goes into a "flashback" arc which lasts over 100 chapters, ending with that scene that you knew was coming. The whole appeal of the arc is watching the circumstances that lead to the inevitable event which you know with certainty will happen.

Story is kindof pretentious and you can expect a lot of the twists it'll pull. The mysteries of the world are interesting though and I enjoyed it. Combat's alright, but by the end you'll get a completely OP plugin set and I wish they tinkered with the dodging system to punish abuse. Game is extremely polished though and I loved going through the menu screens. I think there's a demo on PS4 so I guess you could try that out.

Make sure to do all the sidequests you can in the "first" playthrough if you like 2B. A true playthrough is "beating" the game 3 times (endings A, B, and C). The first run has you play as 2B, second is playing through it again from 9S's perspective with extra cutscenes (rush this if you want, second half of this is completely new content), and the 3rd playthrough is an actual continuation from where the first and second playthroughs left off and you get to play as 2B, 9S, and another character. So don't think you'll be playing the same game 3 times, it's actually worth going through.
