Gatherers at least are self-sufficient. Max one of them and you already have a reliable cash maker (diadem was annoying without both miner and botanist maxed but diadem is dead so who cares).
For Crafters it's either omnicrafting or once-per-expansion story mode. At least some stories are good.

What site do you guys use for text based guides? I was mostly just looking at ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com as it has for most bosses a nice list of their abilities and what they do. But it's missing a lot of fights it seems.

cuckshed is just shitposting. The way this game is balanced is that certain classes have high personal DPS but only that, while others have low personal dps (comparatively speaking) but have support buffs that increase damage of other party members. Historically, this has lead to those low dps/high support classes being favored in raid speedkill groups. Retards take this to mean that only those classes are worth using, leading to the cuckshed shitposting.

Set bonuses on mogstation gear are a new thing. They're really not worth using over regular gear you buy from vendors though, especially since you have to pay for them.

as of 4.0. Hissatsu:Shinten is a greater DPS gain over just using Midare Getsugeka every time you get 3 sens for reasons that require too much math to properly explain. This will change in 5.0 though since Hagakure is being replaced by a skill that simply gives you 50 Kenki without eating Sen. So it will all be moot in 2 weeks.

The optimal server tick for anatman is a 5% dps boost, having to charge anatman for the full 3 seconds still gives a 3.5% dps boost. All this shit about act and needing the triggers is literally for 1.5% dps.

Not really, most of those sets were made for the korean version of the game, where SE uses a different monetization scheme. The items are just brought to the other versions' mogstations just as they are to avoid compatibility issues.

Rogue becomes Ninja which is highly valued. But then, so is Bard which archer becomes.

Also, the starter classes you have are not what you play in endgame. At lvl 30, each starter class gives you a job stone, which you need to equip immediately. Don't be the guy who is a starter class in content above lvl 30.

WHM lost aero III to get a fuckton of initial potency on dia (120 pot on media build) which diminishes the dps loss of having to move which is nice.

The rest is relatively the same except plenary being a really weird skill now.
Like seriously, what the fuck with plenary, why would I want to put a buff on people for 10seconds for every medica I/II or cure III to proc a extra 200 potency heal. It's just weird.

As someone who has played since ARR open beta? Kill yourself.

It's the easiest dps job in the game and starts at level 50 as well as being somewhat of a snowflake identity (using White AND Black magic and being a beloved Zorro figure when both schools of magic are largely forbidden and taboo)

This means the job attracts a ton of shitters, who do horrible dps despite their buttons lighting up to tell them what they should be pressing at any given moment

Their low personal dps but access to raise and vercure makes them useful in progression but 99% of the game is so braindead easy that not having more damage is simply worse

It is optional, it's just that you'll be useless garbage past 30, and deserve to be kicked from any duty you try to join

"Cuckshed" means "not part of the discord meta memes". All jobs can clear all encounters in this game, but meta comp supposedly can clear slightly faster (in a perfect environment where all players mastered both their rotations and the fight).

FF14 has spoiled me with how good it's duty finder is. As other user already said, if it isn't EX, Savage, or Ultimate, you can get a clear from DF.

Of course, quality of your allies may vary, but that's a given.

You'll wind up going through a lot of guilds to find one, some all newbie guilds are idle places that only serve to prevent yourself from getting more invites, some actually do stuff on occasion.

I parked my alt in several before I finally found one that actually talked, but it's still mostly just a handful of people out of 50 or so.

Single target dps is more important, plus they reduced holy cast time which makes up the lack of aero III.

DRG is harder than RDM purely because it's melee.

The math doesn't look too complex. Just on face value you can probably Hissatsu: Shinten + Hissatsu: Kaiten more often than you can Midare Getsugeka or Midare Getsugeka + Hissatsu: Kaiten

RDM has to actually look at their bar and procs are least. DRG's rotation is 100% muscle memory with zero deviation or choices.

Depends. Bard is easier to keep up time with, since it can attack from range, and unlike casters it doesn't require you to stop and charge any attacks, so you can always be moving.

Ninja is melee so obviously you have to be melee range to do damage, but it has trick attack, one of the most sought after skills due to the fact it applies a 10% damage up debuff on the enemy, buffing the entire party's damage by 10% for the duration. This obvious is a skill everyone loves for hardcore content, and in current meta, everyone times their buffs and debuffs around trick attack for max damage output.

I dunno what extent Bard is losing their buffs and debuffs in 5.0 so I can't really say how it'll compare to now.

You actually generally don't wanna use the stealth mode, since it'll slow you to a crawl.
Whenever you have skills that require stealth to use, generally you'll use a certain mudra instead, which allows you to use stealth attacks unstealthed.

Both Black and White Mages are forbidden because they draw aether from the planet like a primal, and they were also responsible for a calamity. Only the padjal (the horned children that are ackshually 1000 years old) can be white mages, and only if they have the permission of the elementals.

Tempering is something the primal usually has to consciously do. Remember Ifrit's blue fire and Lakshmi's blue wave? You can become tempered by proximity, but it takes a lot of exposure. As long as you're a really skilled fighter and extremely lucky, you can kill a primal without Echo. There are a good amount of Flames troops that came back alive against Ifrit, and some of them have become SMNs.

Hagakure with 3 sens gives you 60 kenki. Since the alternative is doing a Kaiten Midare, that's effectively 80 kenki. Shinten is 300 potency for 25 kenki, which is 12 potency per kenki, so 80 kenki is about 960 potency.
Kaiten Midare is ~1300 potency before adding any external buffs (720 potency * 1.5 from kaiten * 1.1 from Jinpu * 1.1 from slashing debuff). However you have to subtract the average GCD potency (371 including Kenki generation) of your combos from that because of the opportunity cost of it being on the GCD unlike Shintens. So that's more like ~900 potency in practice. The exception being if there's a party buff like Trick Attack up and it's about to expire before you can use all those shintens or if the boss is about to jump immediately after the next GCD; if that's the case, then a buffed Midare is better, but that's a corner case. Also, using Hagakure properly also allows you to always apply your DoT as it falls off.

The biggest challenge you face is getting to level cap, especially with it increasing in two weeks. From there its just building item level which involves unlocking dungeons and running them a bunch for gear currency. At that point you're "caught up" unless you want to start doing savage raids, which takes more effort.

IIRC Nu-Holy's potency is 140. After crunching some numbers it's a nerf, new holy has to hit more than 6 targets to be considered a buff.
I can't think of many dungeons or raids with said number of available targets at once besides castrum, praetorium, the area after castrum abania's second boss, and first area of skalla
Regardless, it is better to use Holy (140) over Glare (300) on 3+ targets at once, plus stun. I assume this change was done so WHM's foul is "balanced"
