No that's most of them yeah. However you mostly heard Claude do his really bad friendship speech and the game seems to at least be framing itself as the opposite of that later on. Claude may be intentionally naive/oblivious to how bad things are while the other leaders and rest of the country have fallen into some distraught shit. But at the end of the day it is a series about working together to kill an evil dragon with your friends.

The rest of the roster will probably be route-agnostic. I'm going to guess that poaching students will be limited only by how much you can pump up your stats in the school section, but getting all possible students will probably be impossible outside of a very specific schedule or maybe NG+ shenanigans if the game has those. Even with that, we're still looking at a pretty small roster.

I wonder how different the routes will end up being. They'll probably diverge near the end, but I worry the entire academy part and even some early post-timeskip chapters will be the same maps and story, just with different dialogue. It would be nice if the 3-4 playthroughs minimum the game expects you to do to get the full experience aren't 70% identical. My ideal version of this game would have the paths diverging early and staying that way as well as having more route-exclusive characters beyond your initial students, but I'm trying to keep my expectations realistic.

Even on Casual-Normal mode, the King of Beasts looked like a tough customer. 180 HP, hit hard, deceptive range and has its own "gambits". the safest way to fight it seemed like bringing a mounted unit in to launch their own gambit and run away, but even that has its limitations. And it's an auxiliary map, too, what the fuck are main quest boss monsters going to be like?
There's a fine line between challenging boss battles that demand your time and resources, and annoying damage sponges that just kill the pace. ISIS better not screw this one up

And so far I've dug what I've heard, both the ingame stuff and preview stuff like on the website have worked for me. I also love REACH FOR MY HAAAAAND and hope the final level has a Fate's esque lyrics drop. Fire Emblem does well with its emotional tracks, that Awakening map in the rain got me good.

Should I play the FE games in sort of release order (subbing remakes in over originals unless they're bad)? Or is this not a good series to do that with? Honestly just jump into whatever game interests you the most. There's basically 2 main types of games and one that doesn't play like any other games

The primary difference being that experience is more of a limited resource in the traditional style games (outside of levels that have Arenas or abusable reinforcements) and in the Gaiden style games you can just grind at any time if you're having trouble. Genealogy doesn't fit neatly into either category though it's more similar to the traditional style, but it's very, very different as well. They're all worth playing for one reason or another, though if you don't like any game in particular you probably won't like the whole series. Also Shadow Dragon a shit. A SHIT.

I did play a tad of Shadow Dragon before. Got to chapter 2, but I was having a hard time staying interested. Didn't want to write off an entire franchise based on a remake of a game from 1990 though.

Obviously there’s going to be neutral units like there were in Fates, and completely optional characters as there were in both Awakening and Fates. But just looking at Fates since it and Three Houses are similar, the optional and neutral units were a very small portion of the overall army you get a glimpse at when joining Hoshido or Nohr. Basically what I’m trying to say is that the army is already appearing to be way smaller than it was in the aforementioned two games.

I’m certain there’s more to come, since Anna’s already been confirmed. Though, I’m not sure if she’s actually recruitable. I do hope that some of the professors and church characters can join as well.

Archers can learn Close Counter, have extended range and they have Swords as another option. Even though it's possible to equip any weapon in any class, I think that using weapons that the class is proficient in will increase weapon ranks much faster.
