Are the Watch Dogs games any good?

To be honest, it's not like there'd be anything worth exploring in the South Side. Miles and miles of shithouses and nothing else. The semi-industrial nightmare following I-90 and 294 would have more room for stuff to do, honestly.

1 had better atmosphere and story (for what that's worth). 2 has better overall gameplay and mission structure

They're aggressively mediocre, like most ubisoft games. The story is forgettable trash, the open world is filled with useless "collectibles" that serve no actual purpose, the "hacking" minigames are boring and not really that challenging, and the gunplay is shallow.

No. The second game is much better from a gameplay perspective than the first but the narrative is pure cancer with one of gaming's cringiest main casts.

2 is genuinely fun and the SF open world is gorgeous. The story is awful but just ignore it

The best way to describe them is they're alright. Like a 6/10 (where 5 is neither good nor bad). Get them at a good discount if you want to play them.
