What are some hidden gems?

That's not hidden.
Chronos is pretty good if you are looking for an actual good VR experience. Every time you die you age one year. STR/DEX are strong when you are young but get weaker as you age. magic/INT is weak when you are young but get stronger as you age. Decent story for what it is and some pretty good music.
Power instinct 2
Monster Hunter Stories, 3DS.
SkyGunner
youtube.com
Tai' Fu for PS1
Most of these are not "hidden" but are older and not talked about as much, but are still fun today.
>Outpost II - PC abandonware -
Unique city builder with RTS elements. Most missions are based on quickly establishing a city with limited resources, then collecting more so you can run away to next city location (you're the last of humanity outrunning a disaster on an alien planet until you can finally build a ship to escape)
>E.V.O. - SNES
Platformer with cool evolution-based character builder. It can get a little grindy but this is overcome with speed function on emulator.
>Alpha Protocol - PC/PS3/X360
Stealth/rpg hybrid with elements of mass effect, very good branching storyline where "choices matter". Gunplay is just ok.
Oh, another one
>The Incredible Machine (specifically 3) - can be found on abandonware sites and GoG
Fun puzzle game where you solve puzzles with rube goldberg machines.
I really wish they would remake this along with the other rainfall games for the switch.
FUCK YEAH.
Silent Storm and its sequel Silent Storm Sentinels. They're one of the few video games that has a gender slider and they're WWII/post-WWII games
I have never once seen a Banner Saga thread here so I'm gonna suggest it.
War of the Human Tanks
but I already know you won't even try out the demo
It's a trilogy
While I think it's fun that the acknowledge that the human tanks are disposable slaves, the actual gameplay isn't very good.
At least the first one just devolved into firing at random into the fog of war. Barely any strategy involved.
You have to think of it like fog of war. In one stage, you're fighting this long tank and there aren't many places in the map it could be, so it helps you narrow down where it is, and once you hit it, you can easily hit the other parts
I think it really gets going in 2
I can list some, but youl have to promise to try some.
this one maybe?
Wild Arms 3. Besides a few shitty puzzles and a awful 12 phase final boss that just feels poorly done its just a overall great game no one talks about. Janus is a very likeable relatable character im surprised I never see referenced on Yea Forums
Eufloria. Great fucking soundtrack.
Digimon World 2003 on PS1
Brigador is pretty cool.
Sleeping dogs
>Superflight
>Salt and Sanctuary
>Idris Elba plays a Nazi officer
good taste
the card mini game should totally get a standalone game
Fuck yeah
Might and Magic Clash of Heroes
It's small and very simple but also one of the most fun puzzle games I've played in recent years
The Digimon CCG and Monster Rancher CCG on the PS back in the day were great games
Not op but I’m down
Sunless Sea
the bible game
here, a mix of old and new, and different types
Pick which ever one appeals to your game type or one you haven't tried.
Ardy Lightfoot for the SNES
Vigilante 8 and Rollcage for the PS1
Elebits on DS
Silent Storm
those arent hidden gems you fucking bitch
The Witcher 3 is a pretty good game desu
the entirety of this consoles library
how the fuck are we supposed to know what the top right one is you double nigger
fuck you for posting this
i love this game but it triggers my autism
>replacing s with z
>censoring words like damn like some millenial redditor
>pretty much replacing the male gender with female for everything
>the quirky writing that screams lionhead tier humour
but it looks and feels so fucking good to play, its just ruined by a shitty dev
This game right here is so good.
Shame there is not a sequel, but I played it twice in the 3DS and in PC and I love it.
it says starsector right there in the image you dingus
The concept of playing the entire game against the time was very stressful but surprisingly it worked in favor of the game and made way it more exciting.
that game was a massive clusterfuck and a pain in the ass at times but its one of my favorites
It's not really so much a hidden gem as it is a forgotten gem but Natural Selection 2 is surprisingly still alive and really good
>those arent hidden gems you fucking bitch
>how the fuck are we supposed to know what the top right one is you double nigger
it's called a hidden gem for a reason
Realistically I expected people would be willing to Sacrifice like 1-2min of their time to use google image search.
bump
That actually sounds like a pretty fucking sick mechanic, too bad it's stuck in vr
That's noctis.
that's /actually/ noctis.
Otome games
OG Monday Night Combat before it died
Heeeeeello Yea Forums, have you played a roguelite today?
I've been playing a bunch of arcade games lately, here's some of my faves:
Elevator Action Returns
Undercover Cops (beatemup from the future Metal Slug team)
Willow (feels like a Mega Man X prototype with a little Ghosts n Goblins thrown in)
Wonder Boy in Monster Land (side scroller with some RPG elements)
Cadash (same)
Golden Axe 2, I figured it would just be slightly better than the Genesis version but it's real fuckin awesome
Solomon's Key (puzzle platformer)
