Be mindful, while the base game storyline is ok for all classes, the expansions are almost exclusively tailored around playing a force user (Jedi Knight/Consular or a Sith Warrior/Inquisitor).

Also, tread carefully around the Maelstrom Prison/The Foundry flashpoints and the Shadow of Revan expansion, as most people don't like the way Revan's character development was handled.

Agent story isn't as great as everyone says. Just being honest. It's hailed as one of the better ones, but Knight, Warrior, and Inquisitor are just as good, if not better (depending on your alignment).

It's more a solo game than a MMO. The combat is a bit old and okay-ish, but the solo story are mostly very good (the Imperial Agent main story is absolutely incredible, a must play) and there is a shiton of content.

If you are a solo player who want a long and cool level up experience, go for it

Smuggler story just gets stupider as it progresses though the expansions, if you could imagine that. I stopped playing through my smuggler character's expansion because it didn't fit with the overall tone of the story.
The Shadow of Revan/Knights of the Fallen Empire/Knights of the Eternal Throne expansions are tailored to force users, and I couldn't suspend my disbelief to continue playing through the story. Same goes for the Agent, Trooper, and Bounty Hunter.

a secret is that swtor is actually pretty fun. Yea Forums likes to meme about it but it's a fine game. I played it for a long time and I enjoyed it.

Played it in CBT, and once a year every year since. The game is a massive steaming pile of dogshit that has been enslaved and lives on for the pure entertainment of EA and to make a quick buck with microtransactions. Its literally a microtransaction slavepig.

The expansions are fucking horrendous, they haven't done any new class stories in a long time, and bioware/ea clearly don't give a fuck. you're better off playing literally anything else, unless you want to do the 1-50 stories one each class and dumping it. But if you want that, just load up youtube.

this, every bit of content ever since makeb was clearly made with so little effort and it shows. I played swtor for a long time. they only allow the game to live on because it makes slightly more money than it costs to run.

the 1-50 stories for the most part are ass as well. only a handful of them are acceptable.

the stories are fine enough even if they vary in quality. generally sith warrior and imperial agent are considered the best, while smuggler and trooper are the worst. the lore is all over the place so if your autistic about that you're gonna have a bad time
also the expansions are kind of shit. revans character is butchered even more and valkorion/vitiate is literally just darth nihilus but without his weaknesses that made him unique
they changed the leveling and questing system a few years back so it's piss easy and you only have to do story quests to remain the appropiate level for the planets you visit.
endgame is lackluster at best

I'm actually a veteran of this game since it's launch and even though I dropped it around 2015, it still deserves way less shit than anybody gives it. It's a great storyline.

Agent and Warrior can be good. Particularly LS Sith Warrior who isn't a psychopathic edgelord cunt but still believes in the Empire.

>No Imperial Trooper class that mirrors Republic Trooper
>no Republic Spy class that mirrors Imperial Agent
>no wholly unique Bounty Hunter and Smuggler classes who would share a starter world and choose a side at the end of it
