I would say check your email for the link, but the link in the email doesn't fucking work because this is Barkley we're talking about
For backers trying to access the demo, clicking the link from your email won't work. You need to visit the Kickstarter Page, go to the updates, then click the link from there. That worked for me. Otherwise I think Itch.io thinks you're not supposed to be able to download it.
>six and a half years for a buggy unfinished Kickstarter demo Well it’s still more than I was expecting them to deliver
Cooper Carter
Damnit I forgot the zoomers who inhabit 2019 Yea Forums don't remember Barkley Gaiden because it came out when they were six
John Martinez
>6 and a half years for an unfinished buggy pos. Seems about right. Kickstarter not even once.
Adam Hall
any chance of a leak for non backers?
Easton Campbell
You know while 120k is not a lot for game design the original game was done for no money and it was pretty good. Why is it that more chances than not anything funded on KS is always underwhelming?
Owen Bailey
Reminder that literally none of the original team is involved anymore, they all ragequit. This is some random moneysuit trying to salvage the game.
Benjamin Hughes
yeah but to be fair this demo is of the early part of the game, tir na nog, the part chef/bort/laz actually worked on
Nolan Taylor
real problem was someone getting the idea to make barley 2 in the first place. original was a fucking joke game.
Cameron Garcia
gimme a few aight?
Oliver Rogers
The hell happened to the original team? I heard most of the money gathered on Kickstarter was used for marketing and almost nothing went into actual development.
John Myers

Wait a sex
Didn't the devs pulled out from this and someone post about this on something awful forums?
Joshua Adams
>Wait a sex is this the new "have sex"
Lincoln Thomas
There are some long rundowns by the devs on what happened on some forum (check the archive or someone can post it), but basically the suit mismanaged the fuck out of everything and it was a giant mess.
John Gomez
I need to play it... I need it... I've waited for this vid con for so long.
It was on somethingawful. forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3519798&userid=103527 The short version from what I gleaned from it at the time, ToG and Barkley 2 ended up under ownership of Bort's brother, bhroom, for whatever reason despite not working on the original or having any programming knowledge, he's basically the PR guy. I'd say that the main problem is that he didn't want to cut anything so the development suffered from massive feature creep until GZ, bort, and chef eventually all left and the game ended up dead in the water with some occasional helpers working on it. bhroom seems to still think he'll get the project started again, maybe he'll eventually just release everything they have so some other people can take a crack at it.

Character creation is pretty good so far

>To answer your other question about us become a bloated mega-corp - probably not anytime soon haha. The other benefit of being a single-owner company is that I'm pretty happy with how things are and I don't feel like I need anymore money, beyond us just continuing to make profits like we are. >So there isn't much attraction to "blowing up big" for me. I feel like the detraction of having to manage a larger company would greatly outweigh any benefit of moar money at this point.
>We've gotten inquiries by potential investors looking to dump some money on us for some bigger project but that just seems like a headache to me, dealing with investors and suddenly having to schedule milestones and report what we're doing, convince outside people to let us do this or that... no thanks!
>That said, I wouldn't mind growing a bit more, as I do have an interest in working on different games and it's fun to see things progressing and taking shape - ideally at a somewhat faster rate than often is the case with us haha. >Currently we have just enough people to work on our "new game" plus a GD expansion. I think we'll be stretched thin if we start another totally new project. We're actually in a weird spot currently where it would be great to hire another artist to wrap up FG but after that is finished, there would then be a lull before we get the next thing rolling, where we might not have enough work to go around... so it's better to just try to grind through with the team we have for now, then hire later, once future things are in production.

Game looks pretty good

It's a stupid old parody game that I don't understand why anyone would back a sequel to on Kikestarter
Alexander Ortiz
The in-game internet has some pretty good shitposting
idk still not finished, there's no clear "end" you just eventually run out of content to do. This isn't everything they have done, they have a lot of incomplete areas blocked off in this build.

Zoomer here, remember watching a lets play of the original by some faggot back in the day wasn't the original free, why did they even start one for an rpg maker game with the likenesss of a real person in it?

*sigh* Why am I not surprised to see your blithering idiocy in this topic? You're the child that just doesn't understand that you're not supposed to touch a hot stove and does it over and over. It sickens me to see your unflinching, unapologetic ignorance in a topic that I spent over a month crafting - a month that consisted of possibly the most intense research and mental preparation of my life. To say that I am disgusted by your infinitesimal comprehensional aptitude understates the irreparable damage you have done to my faith in the human intellect. Chex. Quest. Is. Not. An. RPG. Leave.

I haven't run into too many glitches apart from rolling through the crates in the tutorial
